Does anyone care for poirier vs Holloway?

no

I lost all respect for Holloway when he threw away his legacy. He would have had the best lagacy of any fighter ever if he had walked away after the Gaethje fight.

Lowest IQ move in mma history. I have no interest in watching him fight now.
How would you like it if Max wanted you to quit working your job?

TBH I like it only as a fight itself. The story of it sort of blows

For one i don't know what's going on with Dustin. If he's coming back and wants to fight every once in a while that's great, but I HATE retirement fights. Because I know, or assume, there's nothing next. For me it's anticlimatic and dubious

They are both coming off losses and someones legacy will get tarnished. If DDP loses it'd be quite the way to go out, if Max loses he's on a minor skid too and Dustin owns him

First of all you don't matter as much as you seem to think you do. Your personal specific preference for when a fighter has to retire would not be reality in any universe.

Secondly, most don't care about legacy or their health so they're gonna do what they want and we're just spectators.

No but it's happening. A win for either may just knock off some of the aura for his opponent although both are absolute living legends of the sport.

I take Max by masterclass and UD win

What, He didn't check with you before taking the Illia fight? OMG what a shit take on the subject. Max is 33, he's not done, had no intention of being done, and still wants to fight the best. He may even have another title run in him. It will be at LW. WTF are you even talking about? You lost respect for a young guy who still wants to fight? One of the best ever, who is still young, and still wants to fight? Straight up weird take on the situation for you to be such a hater about it.

Nope. We've seen it before.

Not one bit. Fresh matchups is what I want. Especially in the LW division where it feels like we keep seeing the same dogs fighting each other over and over again.

Its Poiriers last fight and Max isn't going anywhere certain right now.

You could make worse fights for both. There are no larger implications for this fight.

Plus its guaranteed to be a fun one. Good fight, I personally have no issues with it.

Not really. It could surprise me and be a banger but the second fight was meh as they are both older now

If we get UFC 300 Max I'm interested. It's not the worst fight so I'm not that bothered by it. It's not a gimme title fight so it doesn't hold up a division either way. I don't really know what else would be an alternative.

We’ve already seen these guys fight twice. Both are at the end of their careers, max coming off a bad KO loss. If Dustin loses he’s going to retire. We already know Dustin had a physical advantage over max Holloway. Does anyone really care to watch two over the hill guys fight for a 3rd time?
There's no evidence Max is over the hill. Topuria could knock out Ngannou if he landed one on the chin.

nope, Im sure it'll be a great fight worth watching but i fail to see what it does for anybody.

Also take that BMF belt off max asap, He Relinquished it when he wouldn't meet illa in the middle

Sure why not? Dustin wanted a name for his retirement fight, theres only two or three guys that makes sense and one of them is never fighting again in Conor. People in here saying he should fight Paddy or Topuria, or how about he fights Gamrot thats a fresh fight. lol. He's not gonna be used as a stepping stone, he wants someone who if he beats or loses its a good win/legend to lose to.

It was Max or Justin and UFC wanted Max so whats the issue? First fight was forever ago and the second one was years ago. Imagine complaining about seeing Dustin and Max fighting each other.

Talk about a trilogy we def don’t need

They wasn’t even that close of fights iirc

Porier clearly said he wanted to close Justin out since they are 1-1 and produce barn-burners

Hell he even asked what Topuria doing first at 155

The dumb BMF belt is on the line and that prob pursuaded Dustin

I said it a few days ago.

Why do a trilogy, and retirement fight for Dustin. When the score is 2-0 for Dustin? The first fight was a million years ago, but still true.

I would have preferred a different fight. A new matchup. I don’t even have a name to suggest. But 8 of the top 15, have never really been given the opportunity to move up.

So like the past SEVERAL years. Two top 5 LW fighters are fighting eachother. Ergo..

The loser almost NEVER drops out of the top five. Though this fight should knock one of them out of the top 5.

That’s why the young up and comers don’t really get opportunities to advance to the top 5.

So many top 5 fighters in the UFC sit around in a maelstrom of horse shit. Expecting to get TS, after TS, etc..

The UFC is fucking most of this shit up these days.

Yes, two elite fighters, and crowd favs. But I really would have preferred a different fight.

Just my opinion..
I'd have been happier with Max vs Oliveria 2 and Dustin vs Hooker 2

Poirier is 2-0 against Holloway.

I'm really sorry, but I can't see any valid explanations or valid reasons to make this MMA fight happen.

Poirier is 1-1 against Justin Gaethje.

In my opinion, Dana White and the rest of the UFC should organize this MMA fight.

I really hope that Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje 3 happens. This is The Rubber Match.

Not really, but I'll still watch it I guess. They could have made two great match ups by matching these guys up with other people. Instead they thought an unneeded trilogy with very little interest was the way to go. UFC matchmaking in a nutshell.
