Does anybody think Anderson might really be telling the truth?

I'm not making an argument. I'm suggesting a possibility of innocence based upon the fact that steroids do not enhance technique, which is Anderson's primary means of winning fights.

As to the other gentlemen who pointed out that roids can be used to recover faster and therefore train more and improve technique further, that's a fair point. It's entirely possible Anderson used roids to speedy the recovery of his leg.

However, I don't think he is, in point of fact, someone who does or would juice for an unfair competitive advantage.

I find myself holding Anderson less and less accountable for roiding, even if he did, given the fact that he fought Chael (roid cocktail), Griffin (roids), Bonnar (roids), Hendo (TRT), Marquardt (roids), Vitor (TRT + roids), and... am I missing anybody?

I think at the very worst, Andy was leveling the playing field against other confirmed cheaters who were doing their best to dethrone him. And at the best, he was simply trying to speed his healing after shattering his leg.

But again, I don't see Anderson as the kind of person who would ever use roids. He's had some easy outs to EXCUSE using roids (ouch my leggy, guys), but he hasn't. He's kept denying to the grave. He could have easily said that he unwittingly took a banned substance to heal his leg. THAT is the defacto dummy answer to preserve your integrity and salvage your reputation.

Instead he basically admits he has erectile dysfunction to the world?

Both reasons are "unwittingly breaking the rules." One is humiliating, the other isn't.

Why go with the humiliating one?

Ah, the "Andy didn't really roid because his opponents were roiding so it doesn't count" defense.

Also TS hahahahahahahahahhaha your deluded fanboydom. Are you also posting War Wand threads?

How could anyone even think about the notion that a technical fighter wouldn't have use of physical advantages? That's downright absurd.

I think it's possible that he might believe what he's saying.

Hear me out.

Anderson is a technique fighter. Always has been. He has never relied on strength. His speed aided him, but above and beyond strength and speed, Anderson's gift was his impeccable technique and his genius level fight IQ.

In light of this, I honestly don't see Anderson as the kind of person who would juice, because he is a guy who understands that technique is paramount and prioritizes it above all else. And roids cannot give you better technique.

I know it's in vogue to hate on the man and make fun of him. And yes the evidence is pretty damning. But deep down, in my heart of hearts, I honestly don't believe Anderson would knowingly juice.

Thoughts?
Go away Sting, Triple H beat you.

Regarding the topic. No, I don't believe him. Neither do I believe Overeem when he says that the reason he got popped for elevated test is because the doc gave him an anti inflammatory mixed with test.

that's up to professionals in the commision to decide...

.. oh wait

Awful. Just awful.

Steroids are not just for building muscle and strength. Anderson could have be using PEDs as a helping hand to keep training efficiently while his body is aging.

I can speak from experience, the changes between 30 and 40 years old in your stamina, agility, and energy are noticeable. An aging fighter that relies on technique could find some benefit to using PEDs even if he didn't bulk up.

Unfortunately Anderson got caught. Whether he did them knowingly and willingly or via some Thai sex drug, it doesn't matter. Ignorance of what he put in his body is not a defense.

If someone wants dick pills all they have to do is go to the doctor for Viagra. These jive turkeys are professional fighters who know better than to make up ridiculous stories and need to be accountable for what they put in their bodies.

The Griffin fight is the worst example you can use. He completely relied on technique in that fight and embarrassed Griffin like we've never seen before. It had nothing to do with any increased strength. Forrest should've retired after that fight.

Are you saying increased strength did not enable Anderson to hit harder?

Is it possible? Sure.
Is it likely? No, not really.

On the drugs to treat sexual dysfunction? Yes, possibly. The man is 40 and has been through a soul-destroying period. Both reasons to think sexual function could be impaired.

On the other steroids? No way. He either took them because of worry over the injury or he was using all along. The latter is quite likely, given the radical change in the physique of his team mate Feijao.

As others have said, steroids aren't just for strength. However, remember that Franklin said he was shocked how strong Silva was in the clinch.

He's 100% juicer and I don't believe a word he says, or has said for that matter

He might just be a pathalogical lier

Hell nah. You expect me to believe that the greatest MMA fighter of all time, who has an incredible legacy to preserve and thus should be mindful of what substances are going into his body, would be stupid enough to use some bullshit Thailand unicorn dust gas station boner pill of unknown origin and chemical profile to get his dick hard when all he would need to do is go to his doctor and get Cialis? What, was buying Cialis at $20 a pill going to cut too much into his multi-million dollar bank account?

That was the most absurd and shameful bullshit I've heard about a MMA fighter's drug test since Kevin Randleman's test came back pregnant.

This absolute clown show of an excuse tarnishes Anderson's legacy more in my eyes than just admitting that he juiced up. I don't care that he was juicing, really; so were nearly every single one of his opponents and he still handed them their ass. However, when a man isn't bold enough to own up to his actions, he's not worthy of praise.
