Man I LOVED this movie as a kid! It was made in 85 so it's chocked full of 80's badassery. It's about a group of high school seniors finding a UFO in an old abandoned military base, taking the engine from it to pass it off as a science project to pass science class so they can graduate. But the engine is actually a time traveling device and all hell breaks loose because of it, including the students having to fight a horde of mongols, some humanoids from the future, and a t rex. It's freakin awesome. It's really funny too.

It's like a dirty mix of Back To The Future, Real Genius and Weird Science. It's also similar to Donnie Darko in some ways, but way less serious than Donnie Darko.

It's got John Stockwell (from Top Gun, Christine), Fisher Stevens (the bad guy on the skateboard from Hackers), and Dennis Hopper as a crazy ass hippie science teacher. :D

Any of you remember this? It's all but forgotten about these days. But if you haven't seen it you should check it out!

Of course. Chill out, Butch. Because when you're cool, the sun shines on you 24 hours a day. So hit the blower!

why the fuck would i remember your science project from 1985? was it something cool like an exploding volcano?

It's fun and has a good soundtrack...

...but it only kind of holds up. The Fisher Stevens character is annoying as fuck. One of my least favorite 80s comic relief characters, up there with the Teen Wolf Too version of Styles.

And I actually like Fisher Stevens in general.

lol I loved that character. But admittedly it's been a LONG time since I watched the movie. I found it on youtube though so I'll probably watch it again in a few mins

Let me know what you think upon a rewatch. It actually looked like John Stockwell was going to be a big star back around that time.

My mind only has room for one 80s B movie with the word science in it. I can only remember Weird Science.

There are so many 80s teen movies that are all but forgotten. Did you guys ever see

First pair of tits i ever saw.

I was two, and not even in school, so you'll have to refresh my memory about your science project.
Was it adding vinegar and baking soda to make a volcano?

My science project was watering a bean plant like daily, with no light - and watering another bean plant once every few days, but left in the sun to get more sunlight.

This was after 1985, though.

Edit
Now that I've taken the time to read the first line of the op, I see that my story is off-topic.

That's ok man. Did your sunny bean plant turn out better than the other one?

I rented that and weird science the same night.
