Does Anderson Silva's loss to DC affect his legacy/GOAT status at all?

Yes, only a close decision win over Brawldando can save the legacy now.

Nope.

He isn't the GOAT, never was and never will be. He's a proven steroid cheat who dominated a weak division and lost to low tier fighters during his prime years.

I think his legacy is fine. The only thing I think really affected it in a bad way is when he tested positive. but then people say it was to heal his broken leg and it was towards the end of his career.

Don't have him as the GOAT but his status is definitely not affected by a fight in his forties, taken on 2 days notice against the champ of a higher weight class.

No-camp Anderson coming off a major surgery lasted longer than Rumble did and hurt DC with that body shot at the end.

Yeah, he got beat up, but he did better than a top LHW contender did against the same opponent. Not half bad.

Daniel Cormier defeated Anderson Silva, and still says Anderson Silva is the GOAT

So when Anderson Silva lost, did it affect his ranking amongst the all time greats in your opinion? I still have him as the GOAT

No. He still is the greatest MW of all time and it doesn't effect his status.

Like Fedor or any other past his prime legend...what they do at the end of their career or when they are clearly past their prime doesn't change their past accomplishments.

Anderson hasn't won a fight since he was 37 years old. He is still capable of beating anyone but his odds of victory in each fight are not what they used to be 7 years ago.

DC in particular would always be a bad matchup for him though because his biggest weakness has always been tdd

No, but Fedor's last win affects his lmao, crazy how things work here on Sherdog.

If anything, it improved his legacy. People will be more forgiving of his steroid use when assessing his legacy now.

Not to me, no.

It was a very late replacement fight against a bigger man. Props to him for stepping up. But, that does not make him a hero. It's his job, and he got paid.

It was getting busted that fucked his legacy. He's not in the GOAT conversation. Neither is Jones.

Lol hell no. He doesn't even need to fight any more. The fact that he still does is a treat. And DC is top level.

Not to me. He was never The GOAT in my opinion but he is still my favorite fighter.

Just curious, how come everyone is calling Jon Jones a cheater/fraud but they dont say anything about Anderson?

Didnt they both test positive for performance enhancers?
