I usually watch the UFC at bars and often when fw fights come on u will hear a handful of people make homohobic slurs about the fighters and claim they can defend them because of their short stature.

I'm curious if any of the people on sherdog feel the same. Yes we are a fickle bunch but do we ever think we can beat a fighter?

So do you think you could take on a flyweight fighter?

People who say they can beat UFC fighters are people who have never trained. If you did you might get whooped by a guy who isn't even great on the regional scene which gives you an idea of how good these guys in the UFC really are. So no I don't think I would beat any flyweights.

Yes, I am 100% confident I can beat any of them up. Although I still train 5 days a week with pro’s my size and I’m 6’3 207. Plus I’ve competed in fights and grappling matches against many high level guys my weight. They would smash 99.9% of Sherdog’s delusional posters that dont train at a high level and don’t have some combination of skill/size on them though. Posters here need to learn to respect the martial arts the vast majority of you would get your shit pushed in by the smallest of ammy/or pro fighters.

I welcome any posters visiting the Los Angeles area to come and train any morning M-F just shoot me a pm. I don’t mean this in a come get beat up way I mean this as a open invitation to come train some MMA it is life changing. If any of you are or have been competitive we have a great gym with solid group of pro’s so come get some good work in.

Realistically, no. But the problem is - you have a suspicion you could. That's one of the main reasons FLW don't sell. People aren't triggered on a primal level enough.

In complete contrast, there's guys like prime Brawhk and Francis - nobody thinks they can beat them.

nah

Lol so eloquent. I just understand that size plays a major role when you have two skilled people fighting. I have trained for a very long time at many big camps. I am not taking shots saying I would beat Flyweights best it isn’t because I’m more skilled, it’s because I am skilled and substantially bigger than them. I didn’t mean it as a slight, quite the opposite.

Not only could I not take a flyweight, I sincerely doubt I could take a female straw weight. I'm old, slow, and sick, I suspect most atomweights would handle me without issue.

You still claim you could beat any of them, those guys are short yes, but they are not 125lbs on a regular day, more like 145lbs, you might survive, might make it competitive, but most of them would still beat you up, they have speed, cardio and skill for days over someone still not a pro fighter.

These guys at the bars do realize that all the fighters in the UFC do an insane amount of weight cutting to make 125 or 135? These are guys that if not doing that would walk around as a brickhouse at 150 or 160.

If you are in phsyical shape, train MMA 5 days a week and are naturally 200+ pounds I could see where you could be competitive. But its not like high school wrestling where a 155 pounder is going to have its way with a 125 pounder on sheer weight difference.
