Do you think Michael Jai White would have won UFC 1 and changed the path of the sport?

No. Lots of wrestlers were helpless. Dan Severn was a big strong wrestler. Ken Shamrock was a big strong guy with competitive shooto experience.

They didn't have striking anywhere near his level and they wanted it to the ground. Severn wasn't in UFC 1.

Explain how Royce beats him. He can't take him down and he can't strike worth a shit standing up.

The only thing MJW needs to do is to fight without a Gi and Royce is fucked.

Obvious troll account, seen it before.

MJW ever get punched in the face or choked or have any attrition whatsoever?

Stupid premise to begin with seeing as there's no evidence of this. He's a pussy actor who pretends he can fight. He has some skills and is big/athletic looking, that means nothing until you actually compete and fight. Many bodybuilder esque guys, many top tier A-level athletes like NBA/NFL players take a punch in the face and wilt.

Many gas, many fold under pressure, many quit. MJW probably quits.

Dude first appeared on television on "Saved by the Bell". Royce Gracie trained BJJ his entire life during a point where it was basically fucking magic and no one knew shit about it. The wrestling bit is bullshit too I think, he said he recently trained it from a 1 second google. Royce probably pulls guard on him, subs him. Or takes him down, subs him. But obviously it never happened so who fucking knows.

. Should MJW be afraid of getting punched in the face by a Brazilian grappler and tough man contestants???

back then? royce mounts him and slaps his ears then chokes him with his gi.

The amount of stupid threads you make in a week is pretty amazing. You're like an annoying kid who ask too many questions.
Well if UFC went back to booking solid good cards, we would be able to talk about those instead. But instead it is a shell of it's former self so we are doing a lot of daydreaming these days.

Here's the better question: WOULD MJW have entered UFC 1?

People forget, when UFC 1 happened there was complete uncertainty and fear about how it would go down. There probably weren't many people in the world willing to do the first largely seen cage fight.

It's easy to say now with how safe and regulated MMA is.

Part of what Royce was doing back then what was so revolutionary was he was beating guys off his back. That was a big thing BJJ brought to the table. Before UFC 1, that wasn’t even talked about. Judo and JJJ had some groundwork off their back, but no where near as refined as BJJ. Even other ground specialists like Shamrock only had success after they had a chance to take a look at Gracie’s game.

Gracie would have armbared or triangled him from the bottom like just about everyone else at that time. It’s pretty easy today to look back at what Gracie was doing and think everyone else sucked at the time. Well it’s hard to fight something so brand new like that.

No but most Sambo champs or Judo Newaza specialists would. Both were available for UFC 1.

EDIT: Oh, and Karelin. If Karelin entered UFC 1 he'd be reigning champ for the next decade.

but, but, what about Blade bro. UFC 1 Blade vs Spawn FIGHT OF THE HELLVAMPS.

sells itself. I think the cape is prob a DQ though. but Spawns suit could make itself a gi.

:D

MICHAEL jai white is not going for a takedown. I don't know why this is so hard to comprehend. Stop comparing him to wrestlers and grapplers.

god damnit I just realized who you are

For everyone else out there I highly recommend not responding to this clown, he’s a either pretty subtle troll or just doesn’t understand what he’s talking about

My last response to the thread because I don’t have time to argue with an idiot all day: Most of Gracie’s other opponents really went for takedowns either. If Gracie can’t land a takedown he’d pull guard and submit him.

Damn,Calm down. It’s just an MMA forum. Don’t take it so seriously. Love the AV, though.

You're the idiot comparing grapplers tactics with a striker.

Royce ain't pulling no no guard on a No Gi MJW. Clothing was optional.
