Okay, so cain proved he could beat JDS and that cain WAS the rightful champ.

But JDS had a longer and harder road to the title.

I also think JDS has had harder fights and had to fight a greater range of opposition. Remember styles make fights, not rankings.

Idk, I feel like if cain had to fight the same comp as JDS who knows if he makes it. Obviously he still beats jds however.

edit: I understand marketing is part of mma and some guys are pushed because of business.

I think both of those guys were making it to a title shot, it was just a question of who got there first. Regardless of their respective paths, Cain got there first, and though he lost the first fight to JDS, ultimately proved he was the better man in their rivalry. They were the two best guys at the time though, and were both getting a shot eventually. I think that's pretty clear.

JDS's resume and legacy shits on Cain. He also had to go through one of the hardest paths to a title shot ever.

I don't think he was screwed over but I do agree JDS has faced tougher competition than Cain.

Do you think its ok for a guy to openly listen to Justin Beiber now that he's switched his style up?

Cain definitely had the easier ride to the title. Styles make fights, but let's not kid ourselves, demographics make the easy fights. Had Cain not been the token Mehican, things would have been different. And let's not look past the fact that the 240lb man who could throw bombs for an entire fight, while being literally the only fighter on the entire ufc roster who is impervious to fatigue, seemingly had very convenient injuries when stricter drug testing was implemented, and when he finally did fight he was a shell of his former self, but that can all be explained away by his "native" air

smh

The 2008 version of Cain would probably lose to the 2008 version of Werdum (that JDS knocked out), but other than that I don't think either guy would have much trouble with any of the guys the other guy faced during their respective title runs.

No clue, but more people will probably remember JDS than Cain st this point

I agree. Cain fought a terrible version of Ben Rothwell and then an old vet in big nog to earn his shot. Meanwhile JDS ran through the entire division and still is fighting different top fighters while Cain is having rematches every 2 years.
