Do you think Dana is paying Aspinall to wait?

They paid him $200k in November to be the Stipe Jones backup.

I believe the OP is asking if Tom is getting paid to sit out. Dana does not pay athletes to sit out. Backup fighters get paid because they have to make weight and fight if one of the main eventers pull out.

i don't see why he would get paid to not fight, other than maybe like weird ad related things. Money doesn't really ever make a fighter more exciting, fight more, or better thouugh so i'm ok with him being poor.

He’s a British HW IC.

I imagine he has a few endorsement deals. He’s getting paid.

I don’t think Dana even likes paying guys to fight

He should just fight Gane at this point. Jones would have signed by now if he wanted it.

Mortgage loans, MLM sups, buying the dip. These are the things I would guess Tom is doing to wait for his chance.
Its an opportunity!

I don't know why ts thinks Tom is poor? He's the reigning defending UFC hw interim champion.

Bisping theorised that might be happening and hes close with Tom.

They paid him $200k to be the backup for Jones VS Stipe and that was November.

200k is literal peanuts for an org that clears a billion a year and spends less than 15% of that in total on fighters. That 15% includes flights, corners, per-diem, insurance, even the stupid PI.

The only reason they give table scraps to Tom is they legitimately needed a backup.

Bisping is a decent guy these days but he's a company man and spouts company-man propaganda.

England has a pretty easy system to get on the dole, no?

Not in that case they don't. Neither Stipe nor Jon was going to accept that. Hell, the whole reason Tom has the interim in the first place is because the "backup" for Jon/Stipe the first time had a pullout and still didn't get the fight and had to fight Tom instead.
