In terms of doing shorter training camps and sitting down on his punches more?

I noticed early in the fight he was sitting down on his punches more (still didn't think he had a shot to win though)

Call me crazy but I feel like his striking is good and technical enough that if he did he could become a legit KO artist

Compare his fight with Luke to his fight with Belcher where he was cracking Belcher clean on the jaw multiple times with no real effect seeming to be made and you can see the difference

Honestly for me and probably a few Sherbros that was my GSP - Serra moment, I only started watching MMA in 2009 so I didn't see GSP - Serra when it happened, I know ofc why it was such a big upset and all but Ive never really seen an upset like that for myself, Holly - Ronda and Barao - Dillashaw were similar but not to the same level because in neither of those fights did I give the challenger absolutely no chance

sorry for the huge amount of text but I am still completely in awe of what I saw on Saturday I absolutely love this sport

Nownow? Don't knowknow!

I doubt he will change his style considering the result.

Nah, if he's smart he'll turn into Cain, Pettis, Cruz etc. Always injured so he can hold the belt for longer

No way. Its people understimating his punches that plays into why he wins. You never know when the hard punches are coming. He blinds you with the noncomittal jab. That gave Anderson all sorts of trouble, and rockhold thought he could get away with overcommitting on his own jab.

He's obviously sitting on his punches more, he followed through as well. He's finally commiting to the exchange instead of planning his retreat in advance.

Looks good right now, my hats off to him he definitely earned this moment. I would have retired if Hendo hit me like he got Bisping

I dont think it was the short camp that led to his victory

Why does everyone all of a sudden think having short notice fights is the answer??

Well it is how he won the belt and beat Anderson. Sounds like a good idea.

not nownow

later.

neither do i. A tactical error on Rockholds part, due to overconfidence? maybe. Bisping also saw a flaw in Rockhold's defense, even beforehand and capitalized.

Bisping is undefeated in rematches.. as some other Sherbro said, for all we know he could be the rematch GOAT

No he shouldn't.

If it's working don't change it. He's found some kind of confidence and it's working for him. I called him to win the Silva fight and this Rockhold fight. He just looks different and sounds different to me. I can't totally put my finger on it. But, there was something that told me both times that he was going to win.

So I don't think he should, nor do I expect him to change anything. The short camp thing may or may not be a good idea. I really don't know. But wasn't there 3 short notice fighters at 199 ? They all won I believe ( I had Bruce Leeroy, and Bisping. Can't remember the other one ).

In Bisping's case I think it was a matter of he had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'm very happy for him no matter what happens in the future.

because they are pissed off that they were wrong about The Count, and are looking for reasons.

It wasn't the short camp. But I get the point that if you're as obsessed with training as Bisping supposedly is, you COULD be tiring yourself out from a 6 week camp as opposed to a 2 week.

Why would he? He´s been looking good lately, and even if he loses his belt soon, he just got the gold that he worked to get for over 10 years, thats something a lot of fighters just never accomplish in their careers.

Bisping landed a really good shot and has IMO improved his striking over the last few fights, but you don't become a KO artist by deciding to sit down on your punches after 10+ years.
