Never supported the ban but Daley isn’t the fighter he used to be. I can’t see him doing too well in the ufc today. Daley vs Lawler would be awesome though.

No in consideration of double standards.
Mc Gregor pushing referees and throwing a dolly at a bus injuring other fighters gets praised and they use the footage of the incident to show how "badass" he is.
Plus who did not wish for this punch to land flush?

    Normally I'd support the ban.

But the after the bell punch was against Koscheck, who's a shitbag and totally deserved it.
My only issue was that Daley wussed out on the punch and didn't lay him out cold. He was gonna get in massive shit either way, might as well make it count and take his head off with the punch.

One sane person on Sherdog today. Guy had fifteen minutes to punch Koscheck as much as he wanted and couldn't. Waited until the sanctioned fight was over to go for a sucka punch. Not banning him would have set a bad precedent.

I don't really care one way or the other, but Daley lost to Fitch in his last fight. He's losing to UFC rejects, it doesn't exactly lend itself to making a compelling case for the ban to be lifted. It probably would have been already if he were more consistent. There's also the weight issue. Dana hates guys that can't consistently make weight and it's been a reoccurring problem in the promotion lately. Why bring back ANOTHER guy who struggles to make weight?

Yes I still support the Ban.

Do any of you see other fighters sucker-punch opponents AFTER THE FIGHT is over?

    No, you don't.

Daley committed a grave sin and paid for it.

    Did Dana overreact? Probably.

But considering that no one ELSE has pulled that shit since that incident, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Dana's decision may have provided an actual deterrent from others trying to copy Daley. In other words, you pull that shit, you're gone.

Ridiculous in the first place Roy Nelson kicked Big John and it was serious enough for the commission to get involved, the only person who cared was Dana
P.S. just my opinion but i think Dan Miragliotta made the whole situation look much worse by restraining him as if had just commited a crime and was going to run rampage

Paul Daley is irrelevant today. Unfortunately when he was exiting and on top he fucked his chances by hitting after the bell. No need to lift any ban UFC don't need him.

Seriously - ask Koscheck. If he says he's cool with it, then just drop the ban.

    Yes I do.

It wasn't serious because Kos saw it coming and blocked it. Had he not been able to react serious damage could have been done. It was assault.

I do not support double standards though.

Had Conor done that they would use it as PR after a slap on the wrist.

At the end of the day I think a suspension of like 2 years would have been ok though.

Jason High got banned for shoving a ref though and I think that went to far. A fine or a small suspension would have been enough.

Another thing Conor did (even outside of competition) and did not get punished.

Disciplinary actions are important. But consistency is even more.

Wouldn't be opposed to him coming back. There certainly needed to be harsh repercussions at the time though, I don't think the UFC botched it.
