Unsolved Mysteries and Rescue 911 were the shit.
In Search Of > Unsolved Mysteries. Neither show was very good.
I used to watch it when I was a kid. I think it came on after Rescue 911. The UM theme music used to scare the shit out of me, then I'd go to my room down a long dark hallway and lay in bed afraid to close my eyes for hours.
Get out.
This. I was a little ass kid with a typical kid imagination when I used to watch this and I hated to watch it while home alone (and yet I did it anyway). That theme music always brought me just short of pissin' my pants.
What I used to do when I watched it while home alone was have every light on in the house and I kept all my doors locked but had certain, strategically located windows cracked open (in case I needed to escape or yell for help).
I don't see why you are upset. In Search Of had Leonard Nimoy. Leonard Nimoy is awesome.

I was mostly responding to your assertion that "neither show was very good."
Pretty good/creepy. If I'm not mistaken I think you can buy the entire thing on DVD. The creepy faux detective host was a hit too.
Well, I mean, ahem, they weren't.
Hell yeah, I used to love the show and still do. Sometimes I come across it on lifetime, although it's the Dennis Farina ones, which aren't as good as Stack
I really enjoyed this show.
The other I liked was 'Cold Case Files' which was much later.
The theme music was extremely creepy.
