Do you look down on blue collar workers?

I admire the skills the blue collar workers have. Over the Xmas break our cabin sprung a leak, I had no idea what to do, one of the guys helped me take the siding off the cabin to find the leak, and another guy helped me tighten the clamps etc to fix it.

Later on the first guy had bought a Chromecast but had no idea how to set it up, I did this for him and he thinks I'm the genius ha ha. So skills in both areas will be handy of course.

It depend how old they are and who they are. If they are immigrants who don't speak English well, they work in blue collar jobs. that fine. If they born in America and speak English as their first and they still doing jobs that 18 years old kid can do when they are over 30 + years old. I have to judge. We all judge!
The janitors at my work are all Mexican and sometimes I struggle to understand them. They're all quite old, and when I do understand what they're saying they're really nice guys. I'd be having words with anyone looking down their noses at them.

Not at all, I respect my friends that work the trades as they have a huge amount of knowledge in what they do

I do find it weird that most trades men in the UK just can’t wait to finish work and drink at the local pub until kicking out time every day of the week though

Of course not. What kind of a question is that?
I work a blue collar job now, it pays decent money and only working 4 times a week but graveyard shipping. A member on here wouldn't stop harassing me mocking me and belittling me calling me a pizza delivery man, because I said I work shipping for a private company who makes embroidered goods for businesses and logo goods, like pens, paper, towels, etc and I drive all the way to the deserted and back to LA.
He kept mocking me and I told him what do you do for a living? I said don't make fun of people who work an honest living you could lose everything like I did and have to work a blue collar job too.

Ill say this I respect those people who have to clean those filthy ass public restrooms at the casino anytime Im gambling and I win something I always tip those guys, that is a brutal disgusting job and I couldn't do it. I remember walking into a toilet at the Casino in Indio Spotlight 29 and some dude barfed all over the floor and the custodial worker was cleaning it, he was an older Filipino guy and an immigrant and I gave him 40 bucks he dam near cried it was before Christmas he said thank you sir.

Well, fuck those guys.

There are lots of valid reasons to look down on someone. Making an honest living is not one of them.

No not at all. If anything I've known several white collar workers who were envious of blue coaler jobs. Sitting behind a desk staring at a computer all day can suck the life out of people. It reminds me of one lady that was doing well as an accountant but hated the work. She quit her accounting job to work in a warehouse, moving items around. Came as a shock to those that knew her. She just had enough of accounting work though, and couldn't take it anymore.

Try hanging, taping and mudding drywall in fairly quick fashion or put some bondo on a dent and sand it completely straight.

You'll develop a shit ton of respect for the guys that do that type of work. Not only is it difficult and hard on your body, but it's a serious art form.

I've been in and out of both fields and I don't belong in either.......... prefer the physical side of the blue collar............if I had to get stuck in one.

I've never looked down on anyone, just the same as I'm never jealous of people, it just doesn't cross my mind..........

i dont think anyone look down on blue collar workers unless you're raised as a trust fund kids in the cushy environments.

Nothing better than grafting hard for 10/12hrs then supping a nice cold Stella at the end of your working day...getting home to your sausage, potato waffles and beans, cold and slung in the microwave because its 1 in the morning and your missus hates you.

"It's one in the fucking morning dave, what you playing at!" She'll say and you'll reply "fuck off Marie, I only had one" when really you had 8 and depending if its a weekend a bag of coke too.

Then you'll have a fight, knock fuck out of each other then you'll do it all again the next day...this is what I've heard anyway i wouldnt know, im posh. We look down our noses at these peasants. Yah yah.
