i realized something yesterday. I have to outnoise people.

If someone is playing music loud in a car i have to play it louder.

if living I'm in a house where i have a floor and other floors are rented to other people and they are making loud noise like playing the stereo or yelling or stomping around, i will start stomping around louder or yell at nothing or blast my music.

if it was 2 am and i was trying to sleep and the guy downstairs started making noise i would blast my stereo just to fucking outnoise him.

Is anyone else like this or is it just me?

I don't know, I have yet to get that urge...UNLESS its some one blasting something I really don't like.

I'm the opposite, I have to out quiet people. If someone is good at sneaking up on other people, I'm strongly compelled to sneak up on them instead. I pride myself on my ninja skills.

I turn down my music when I'm in a neighborhood, throw my car into neutral, turn off my lights, and coast down the street.

People used to scatter, but now they know it's just me creeping.

There's definitely a difference between occasionally being loud and intentionally trying to outnoise someone. Depending on the situation, I really don't like to think of someone that does this. I think they'd really annoy me.

I used to live in this ghetto-ass apartment in Van Nuys where one of my neighbors was a 2 bedroom apartment with 6 or 7 Mexicans living in it.

They would play this super shitty Mexican music really loud. At the time, I was a DJ and had a massively big sound system and turntables. One time I got fed up with it and cranked my system up, put some Rick Ross on the tables, and let a rip.

The bass was so heavy that every single wall and the floor vibrated with a vengeance, some stuff falling off my dresser. I felt sorry for all the other neighbors, but it had to be done. The trumpets and spanish guitar died a quick death that day.

It was the most epic out-noise of all time.

i don't....and to take it a step further, my family is very loud. at family functions, if someone is in essence shouting at me, i will lower my voice almost to a whisper, and kind of look around, just to kind of make whoever i'm talking to think just for a split second that they are being loud, but i'm not putting it on them....if that makes sense

Very specific to noise, so no. I do out eat people though, on a separate but somewhat related topic. Haha

A buddy of mines dad when laughter is heard will start laughing hysterically loud. Restaurants, movies, public, anywhere, he just enjoys it

Do you do it because you think they are assaulting your peace or just because you think you can do it better?

I always try to look more attractive than other people, I'm pretty good at it.

Haha both. I like to test my limits anyways. Once, I ate alone and ate food meant for two or three and I was the only one at the restaurant (it was a 3pm lunch) and the waitress kept looking at me weird. That was actually uncomfortable, come to think of it.
