We already know he has lost to him at WW and dont know what will happen there again. Who do you see winning at WW and MW?

Thompson seem like a bad matchup.

I think at 185lbs, Whittaker would whoop Thompson, I think Whittaker is the better fighter and striker. That being said, Whittaker has grown and filled out since his days at 170lbs...He's not EVER making that weight again, he literally won Australian national's in wrestling at 208lbs. Whittaker wasn't giving up much if any size vs guys like Derek Brunson...

Rob the Reaper has improved a ton in the past 3 1/2 years while Wonderboy has stagnated.

2017 Reaper > 2017 Wonderboy at any weight class.

I think beefcake Wonderboy runs through the whole division especially sense-beater Rockhold.

No. Wonderboy will counter and KO him.

I think people have washed out Thompson because the two Woodley fights

I think Wonderboy beats Masvidal and is a top 5 fighter and Championship level talent who's getting a little old and sliding out of his prime..

I think Whittaker is the best 185lb fighter on the planet and similar to Max Holloway skill for skill one of the best fighter in the entire sport by far, but doesn't get his due. (He beat Romero and Jacare for fucks sake).

Stagnated? Nah Woodley is just a tough guy to look good against.

Romero too actually. Difference is Romero goes for it.

It's harder to look good against a fighter who doesn't go for it, but can knock your ass out if you engage him.

Rob the Reaper didn't just "look good against" Romero, he beat him. Rob didn't just beat Romero, he beat him on one leg. And Romero had only been beaten once before.

Wonderboy didn't just not look good against Woodley, he failed to beat him. And Woodley had been beaten 3 times already when Wonderboy failed to beat him.

Champions don't need excuses. Champions just find a way to win.

Whittaker looked good. I was impressed with his performance. Did he look great? No.

A fighter looking great is what Dillashaw looked vs Barao (who also only lost once), what RDA looked vs Pettis, what Silva looked vs Franklin, what Holm looked vs Ronda. A fighter looking great is when he/she outclasses/finishes the opponent in jaw dropping fashion.

Is that what Rob did to Romero? No. Both guys looked good, it was a good fight. A tactical fight. Nothing insane but flashes of brilliance. That happens sometimes where two fighters negate eachother. A competitive solid 48-47.

The first Wonderboy/woodley fight was another tactical battle. Good high level bout. Should've also been a 48-47 if it wasn't for one punch.

You can't say a fighter didn't look good because he didn't get the W.

I think Wonderboy still wins this fight. Really like Whittaker but I think this is a bad style match up for him.

It's hard to say. Thompson seems pretty suited for 170. Whittaker always looked drawn out and tired. At 185, Whittaker has found his home and looks fantastic. Could Wonderboy just be a bad match-up? Sure. He's a bad match-up for most aggressive boxers. Could the damage he took against Woodley be what broke his chin? Sure. We won't know until Wonderboy fights him again.

Yep. He looked amazing.

He beat a guy off an 8-win streak who's built like a superhero and who had beaten Weidman, Jacare and Machida in his last 3. And he did so with one leg.

Thompson whoops him any day. Just a bad match up he destroyed him the first fight. Whittaker did land some nice jabs but once Thompson got his timing down it was over for Whittaker. Whittaker has looked good lately not trying to take anything away, Thompson is just the better striker no other way to really slice it.

I'd like to see it I think Whittaker has improved a lot in the last few years.

MW wouldn't make as much of a difference as the renaissance Whittaker has undergone in the past few years.

That said in Wonderboy he's still fighting a quick guy with excellent footwork who doesn't want to take him down (which seem to be the key places Whittaker has improved)

I think Wonderboy hands him another L.
