There is more humans now than in the past and also today we dont need as much manpower as we needed for example 100-300 years ago.
There is a number of reasons. Technological is the most I would say main reason.
We can slowly see humans being replaced by machines in various jobs. From as primitive as construction machines to more advanced such as amazon drone deliveries and other stuff like that. Yes I know, we laugh today at some technological inventions today, but from business perspective it saves money, time and robotic employees dont need breaks, dont complain and can work 24/7 (at some point will).
I know most of you dont care because we most likely wont experience things like that first hand, but our next generations will. Huge unemployment, jobs only for people holding doctor degree at least, this could be the future guys.
