Do you find it kind of sad how close Chael has gotten to a title and never won one?

Faber at least won one in WEC. Chael had a total of 3 title shots. 2 of which he could have won. 1st Anderson fight he dominated until the last 2 minutes where he gets triangle choked. 2nd Anderson fight, get dominated after a clumsy spinning backfist fail. 3rd fight. Jones mauls him but breaks his toe in the fight and if Chael would have been able to get out of the first. He would have a one legged Jones to fight.

Now he's in Bellator, past his prime. Hoping to get a belt. Albeit a 2nd rate belt. It's kind of sad. But at the same time. Inspiring that the dude hasn't quit. He never quits. Even Bisping got the ever so elusive title and on short notice. Dude lost every title eliminator fight he was in. But he had a chance with 1 month to fight Rockhold and knocks him out. Lol Bisping doesn't knock anyone out.

Guys like Matt Serra who are let's face it, journeyman, have won a UFC title. It's just sad Chael could never do it. He had to carry around a fake belt in interviews. Lol.

Chael seems very happy these days. Title or no title.

He's carved out a very nice niche for himself.

Do I think it's sad? Not really. Chael doesn't really complain about it either.

Chael isnt a title worthy fighter. A juicer, a cheater and a quitter.

No, I find it extremely fitting and satisfying for the way he carries himself.

If he wins this tournament then that will be a highly credible achievement. If he doesn’t then yea, his career ends up a bit of a sad story.

I feel sadder for Hendo and Reem, both of who failed to win UFC gold despite all their previous accolades. Chael is not a championship level fighter.

Least sympathetic character in mma.

Here's some depressing music to listen to while we talk about depressing things

I feel for sad for the belt that it's gotten so close to Chael's waist but never touched it.

Everyone at the bar went nuts when Anderson got the sub in their first fight. Epic ending.

He had some decent moments, belts or not.

Nah.
I somewhat like Chael, but he doesn't seem like the kinda person to feel sorry for. Plus he was a major cheater.

Remember that he pissed hot after the first Anderson fight so he would have lost anyway.

Is normal to me. You know he was destined for greatness but that belt isn’t part of it.

He did win in wec, the champ missed weight but Chael beat him
