GSP is the p4p best fighter in history IMO, BUT him being inactive for so long together with the fact that Wonderboy is tearing shit up..no question it would be a step down but I'm not hating it's a bigger money fight and like I said against one of the best if not the best fighter in MMA history.

GSP has much more of a legacy than Wonderboy.

I think this confirms GSP was terrified of Lawler.

    Pretty hard to say.

Old GSP would be the toughest test possible. Current GSP is a huge question mark. GSP was looking slower and more hittable in his last few fights pre-retirement.

Ring rust could be a huge factor. And GSP is 35 now.

On the other hand he may have taken the time off to heal up, get his head together. Maybe he comes back with the fire that we saw pre-serra and is ripping motherfucker's heads off again. That's what I hope for anyway...

Step up in competition in fighting the WW GOAT and a step up for his bank account.

As great and as skilled Thompson is he is just a no name to the casuals and to them he looks like the Sham Wow guy who isn't going to command a big money fight.

Conor has just showed all the other fighters in the UFC such as Woodley the Promised Land and now he is going there.

Blame Dana for allowing this, starting with Conor he allowed this shit to happen.

Well a fight Vs the WW Goat is the biggest fight possible for T-Wood.

    Maybe it's a duck.
Wonderboy might be the next big thing in the sports

I agree with this. Sure GSP was great, but dude has been out for almost 5 years now right? Thompson has been destroying guys and making it look easy. Hell, I know Lawler actaully got the stoppage, but I think Thompson's performance against Rory was much more convincing in showing who was the better fighter.

A bit of both really. GSP is a stud but the damage Woodley will take is far less than he will likely receive if he fights Wonderboy.

It makes sense in Woodley's head to quack Wonderboy to make more money to lose to GSP.

All this BS about he thinks he's the best and needs to prove it is laughable.

You should never pass up the chance to face a legend of the game if you get the chance....even if the legend is past it, it's still a great opportunity.

Wonder boy is not going anywhere for now.

Given the way Woodley froze up against Rory, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a fight with Thompson would look fairly similar. GSP's a big risk, but that fight carries a big reward, and assuming GSP is returning anyway, his first fight out of the gate will probably be where he looks the worst.

Woodley is probably thinking that his best bet is blitzing GSP hard in the first round and praying for a KO. That would provide him with the most money and the most prestige. If he loses, he just lost to the best WW of all time, so it's less of a big deal than losing to the first title challenger.

Pretty much. GSP may beat you but he will not humiliate you or beat the shit out of you.
