I suppose this seems like a paranormal question, but perhaps it isn't necessarily. What I mean by that is I could see someone making an argument for something like this falling into the realm of quantum physics, completely bypassing the potential explanation for such a thing boiling down to the existence of a God, ghosts, etc..

So, what's your call?

My suspicion is most will say they do not, as materialism has been on the rise during our current lifetimes.

Personally, I have always been on the fence until recently. However, my life has been extremely tumultuous of late, and while struggling to cope, I've experienced what one might call an awakening of sorts. Sure, it could be a coping mechanism coupled with some good ol' fashion confirmation bias, but, having witnessed it first hand, it's incredibly difficult to deny that which has been shown to me. I'm not sure I can ever go back.

Discuss Sherfam.

What kind of drugs did you take before this all happened TS? Asking for a friend of course...........

you mean like a strange chain of coincidences related with eachother leading you to something, im not the spiritual type tbh, but i think our instinct like our blood or guts or something in us has some opinion into what "sign" or "lead" to follow and sometimes it may or may not be the thing your brain is saying its the right path, i think this is a real thing but not from the universe, but from within

Perhaps, sure. But how would within dictate such a thing without a connection to that which is outside of ourselves?

This is popularly referred to as synchronicity, which is largely a product of choices in perspective. We cannot objectively account for the entirety of reality, we can only subjectively experience barely a percentage of it at any given time. Everything is coincidence -- reality is the story you apply to coincidence.

If you think the universe is against you, you might not be entirely wrong but then: what difference would it make?

sure, connected to some esoteric astral energy source, could be, i have no idea.

Without a shadow of a doubt my dude. There is no accidents or coincidences on this intelligent universe. Everything has a purpose, let your intuition guide you. Specially if you are going through rough times, life is testing you, if you can get pass this, life is preparing you for the next chapter of your life.

Don't let close minded people tell you otherwise.

Pretty much. Yeah.

Idunno but I think there is way more going on than meets the eye that we couldnt even begin to understand. I don’t believe in a religious creator of sorts, but there is some greater power at work. Whether that be someone or something or just some universal force, I have no clue.

You see what you want to see.

I was of course jesting TS.

About 2 or 3 months ago I had a few 'weird' things happen to me. Stranger still, they happened on consecutive Saturdays.

First Saturday, I was at work and started thinking about my son. He is a huge harry Potter fan. For some reason, I started thinking about 1 of the HP movies, and the Character Barty Crouch Jr. just popped into my head for no apparent reason. Not 5 minutes later, this guy that I'd never seen at work before comes over to ask me a few questions. We're bullshitting for a minute, and then he introduces himself as Bart. Ok weird, but whatever.

Next Saturday, I wake up to go to work. I sit down and eat my breakfast, and start thinking about some fucked up dream I'd had just before I woke up. I remember reading/hearing about the fact that you can only picture faces in your dreams, of people that you've seen in real life. That your subconscious brain cannot invent new faces. I finish breakfast, then go upstairs to brush my teeth. This is the time I usually take my morning dump. I've got to shit so bad, I run to my ensuite bathroom and sit down.

I knew this one was going to take a while, so I decided to grab some reading material. On the back of my toilet are 3 of those Uncle Johns bathroom readers, and a graphic novel. I look at the first bathroom reader, the graphic novel, then skip to the 2nd bathroom reader. I open it up, and start reading the article o the page I'd randomly opened up to. Now, if you've ever read one of these things, at the bottom of each page they have a random factoid. As I finish the page I was reading, I get to the bottom, and HOLY FUCKING JESUS H CHRIST!!!! The random factoid (keep in mind, randomly picked a page to read of a 600+ page bathroom reader) is: we can only see faces in our dreams of people we've seen in real life. I nearly died right there on the toilet. I literally sat there for 10 mins completely stunned.

Anyway, I told myself that if something happened like this for a 3rd weekend in a row (in particular next Saturday), that I'd become a religious man. Luckily for me, it never did.

Signs from the universe?

Here's a story. In 2016, I met a girl. I'm from Chicago, she was from Lithuania, and we were in the same PhD program in Wales. She was the most stunningly beautiful girl I'd ever seen (and I wouldn't be surprised if she turns out to be the most stunningly beautiful girl I ever see). I wanted her so fucking bad. She was in a relationship, though, so I wasn't pushing for anything. But we ended up spending more and more time together until us being together was obviously inevitable to the both of us. Finally, I had to tell her how I felt and what I wanted.

The night that I told her and we decided to make a go of it was the night of November 2nd, 2016. All Cubs fans know that date. We were outside, saying goodbye - she was going back to her place to break up with the dude she was with and I was going back to my place to watch Game 7 of the World Series - and we hugged, and the instant we touched, all of the street lights turned on. Then, I went home. I started watching the Cubs game, and in the very first at-bat, Dexter Fowler hit a home run. I was sitting at my desk, watching on my computer, and I had the thought: "How weird would it be if, tonight of all nights, the Cubs win the World Series for the first time in over a century and I end up spending the rest of my life with the woman of my dreams?"

That would've made for a nice romantic comedy script, but in reality, the stars don't align like that except by coincidence. The Cubs did win the World Series that night, but the girl of my dreams was more of a nightmare; she was a wackadoodle and the relationship was a disaster from the word "Go."

Some shit happens, other shit doesn't happen. No rhyme or reason. And nothing/nobody is communicating with us via the universe. It's just us and the decisions that we make or don't make.
