CLS or Chuck Liddell Syndrome is a disease which hinders a fighters ability to take a punch. It's measured on the Schaub scale with severity ranging between 1-10. Several fighters have been know to encouter this disease over time like Chuck Liddell, or through genetics like Edson Barboza. Several studies show though, that there might be a reversal to CLS via some unknown factors. Here's a couple examples.

Wanderlei Silva. He's the second most popular case of CLS. The strange thing about his case was that he only had it on his right side. If you look at his history, Wanderlei has never been finished or severely hurt by a strike to his left side. Vitor, Cro Cop, Hendo, Rampage, and Leben all knocked him out with lefts. The knockouts that were finished off by multiple strikes were initiated by lefts. If you watch the Cung Le and second Rich Franklin fights, he was hurt by lefts but recovered. In the Brian Stann fight he was hurt by lefts and rights but recovered multiple times. This was the first time reverse CLS was thought of and began the studdies.

The next reported case was Andrei Arlovski. After being known as having a suspect chin his whole career he would later go on a 4 fight losing streak, 3 of which were by vicious knockouts. Many people thought it was over for him. Since then he has taken bombs from guys like Mike Kyle and Rumble, and even had his jaw broken without having his lights shut off. Sadly his last fight had very few good strikes thrown and we were not able to fully study his reverse CLS.

My question to Sherdog is...Do you believe?

Yes.
Weight cutting factor for Wanderlei

This thread was almost as successful as your screen name.

I will say its pretty interesting that Wand gets killed by strikes to the right side of his head. Even Hendo's awesome spinning backfist, though it was a right hand, it obviously landed on the right side of Wand's head. Who knows, I do notice that my right side is not as good. I have a slight lazy eye on that side, 2 major knee surgeries, torn labrum, torn rotator cuff, removed skin cancerous birthmarks on right side of head, 30+ stitches on right forearm, hand, forehead, pinched nerve on right side. Its wierd.
