Well...do you? Or are you spiritual in any sense?
Personally I edge towards Buddhism. Just interested.

As do I, I have enough happen in the last 10 years to think there something else goin on besides Baywatch reruns

I do not believe in a Catholic God, or any other specific type of God, but I do feel that there has to be a higher power or powers.

I believe in god. I believe that god is like watchmaker and doesn't care about us, that it made all this then left to pursue bigger and better things. If god truly and deeply loved what it is it created we would be with it now. God looks out on its own endeavors, much like a stockbroker, making sure the investment doesn't go to far south before selling out. I believe it's a deist philosophy to some extent. All the lies about going to a safe place, or apocalyptic war are all fabrications made about two thousand years ago, when folks were sophisticated enough to shit where they eat. It's also about the same time the idea of money came to be more accepted. The time called for a grand legend to get them out of the doldrums of the mundane and work toward something geater. If you look down through history, people in places of power are always using these gods (religion) as a tool to repress but on the other hand make money from that repression.

Sorry, to get all long winded, just a thought.

I beleive in god but I say F religion because that's a load of bull.

i believe in God. sometimes i don't always dig his fan clubs but we're all only human. i go by everything that's in the Bible.

funny we bring this up cause i'm goin to church in about 20 minutes.

I believe in God and Jesus and all that but I can also understand why people are cynical of religon and such. And if you're wondering why the world is in such diseray as it is now, well that's because man made it that way. The Bible says God gave us free choice so he's not just going to kill everyone. Why through out the baby w/ the bathwater?

Now Razor look at what you're saying you act like people just sat around behind their computers all daybecoming post whores. Not exactly it was a lot buisier world back then. No such thing as welfare, police few hospitals. Basically you took care fo yourself, the world was largely agrarian. Thew world according to CHristianity and Judiasmwas far more immoral and un ethical. People killed and killed and killed and killed and raped and raped and raped and raped and pillaged and pilaged well you get the idea. The world was a bad place and it would continue on that way. People basically were content w/ back stabbing and getting along by any means possible they didn't just sit around all day making up stories. The Rebel Jesus is so shocking although we take it for granite because he comes to the sceen not looking to take lives, but save them.

If what you said was true then why would Jesus tell people to give money to the poor and promote socialism? It's man that corrupts. When we attempt socialism and humanitarianism, we wind up worse then we were before, don't beleive me take a trip to Cuba or China or even Russia. W/o Christianity the world I gaurantee would be a far worse place. The Danube froze over and the Germanic tribes set upon Rome and eventually the world and left all man at their mercy, but w/ CHristianity, the religon of those they conquered they realized they were @ the mercy of a greater power. True nation liek the Netherlands and England would end up practically rejecting religon altogether and havoc the world but we see how the Spaniards and French although one might argue cruel were by no means as cruel as the English or as cruel as those they conquered.

If religon significantly changes people it's mroe for the good than the bad.

interesting, tenecious. the only thing i'm sure about is the part where we say that religion has changed people good more than bad.

i would say it's half & half. like you said, it's PEOPLE who do the screwing up. a lot of people have accepted worldwide religions and have utilized them to better their lives and the lives around them.

however a lot have also used it as an excuse to do some extreme mass destruction- crusades, cults, terrorists, marilyn manson, etc.

i think the biggest mistake is when one of the above does something stupid in the name of their religion. then everybody blames the religion instead of the dumb mutherfucker. i bet there's so many people out there who hate islam right now because of recent events.

i do not believe in god. i dont have any answers as to how or why life is the way it is or how it began. i dont push my belifs on anyone and i dont want others pushing it one me, with that said, i have absolutely no problem with people explaining things to their children with religion and being able to sleep better at night by believing in a higher power. i think that the bible was written to teach lessons and to explain why things happen, if that is the case(i obviously dont know for sure), then it has done a great job, and led many people down a good path. there are many things that cannot be explained, life is just one more thing. i personally think that there are many people out there that are afraid to believe what they really want to and most people believe just cuz their parents did and they told them to believe. i feel it is a decision to be made by each person individually. either way, we are all in this world together.

I believe in God and the Bible. It is really a shame that so many people think they are too intelligent to need religion. That its for weak deluded people who need to believe in fantasy. If it was written 50 years ago and there were people still alive who witnessed the events then would you believe it? Well it was written 2000 years ago and no one is still around but the people who witnessed it were willing to DIE to pass it along. What book would YOU die for? I can't think of too many I"D DIE for. Most people who reject religion want to do whatever they like guilt free and any system that doesn't embrace their practices is an evil institution made for control. And the best are people who think everything just happened and evolved over billions of years. They wont accept religion so they take out a creator and replace it with a shitload of time and infinite chance. That is as much a religion as anything.

God has never helped me with anything.
God has never shown him/herself.
You pray to god for help or whatever - and you get shit.
Waste of time to pray - that's just my opinion nothing personal.
And I dont care if someone says god hates me or doesnt like me - Because I dont care to like him either!

the greatest thing about this country is that it is free, free to live, free to think, and free to believe in whatever you want. it is not necessary to call anyone weak and deluded, i dont believe but i have no problem with you believing, and it should be the same with you. normally, the only ones who push their beliefs are are the ones who do believe.

Do you agree with the bible's ideas of slavery?

According to the bible, I can have American and Russian slaves. I gotta get me some of them.

I think you have a good point except, the part about "you act like people just sat behind their computersall day becoming postwhores." Don't allude to things, just be straightforward and call a guy out, the subtle as a serpent thing only works for your Satan.
I believe Jesus Christ was a real person and he had a good philosophy much in the same vein as Buddha-the problem was when people wrote it down they played a game of telephone. All the information was corrupted and twisted through them much like with preachers today. I can remember reading how much the vaunted Rev. Billy Graham told Nixon he hated Jews. Now that overt antisemitism is out of fashion, he recants and thinks we should all get along. To that end-Christianity as with most religons has become nothing more than a bastion for hustlers looking for a tax free shelter.

Are you OK? Things like that can have some pretty heavy repercussions later on. Its good that everyone walked away from the accident.

Oh man that is horrible. It's good to hear everyone is ok, LSG.

I believe in God. I've been Catholic all my life, but just started attending church in January. I've been going every Sunday since...it's real sometihng I enjoy doing.
