Yeah it seemed the doctor was just to make sure he could still see. The only stop for damage if the damage needs immediate treatment.

I think so. It felt like the ref was trying to get the doctor to tell him to stop it, but if a fighter can see, let him fight. Maybe the corner should have stopped it for their fighter's sake, but since they didn't, it's not the ref's place to call a fight just because "he's probably not going to win a decision."

That kind of beating shortens a career and causes CTE.
