Do you agree the Jones cocaine story is the most overblown non-story in mma history?

Nope it was just the right amount blown

Agreed. Could not give a shit. Am very interested in the abnormal hormone levels though.

I said this when the story first broke. Once the dust settles this will be just a bump in the road. It's getting so much attention because its a perfect storm of
Hypocrite fighter with "morals" ,
UFC Champ, not some prelim fighter
Coming hot off the heels of one of the most hyped and important fights in UFC history.

War machine beating up that porn star was the most overblown. Jones is a close second

What? The War Machine story made mainstream news. He didn't pimp slap her like the BS Pamala Anderson/Tommy Lee domestic incident. He beat the fuck out of her like he was in an MMA bout with no Big John to save his opponent. Unless those pics were photo shopped, I'd say it got the right amount of attention.

So what if he likes to do a little nose candy, it was out of competition. Anyone that's done it knows that it would be more a detriment during training than an advantage.

Sure, grab an 8 ball, strap on a just bleed shirt, stroll Gastown looking for a fight, find it with a bouncer at The Roxy. Ahhhhh Vancouver.

No, that would be Conor McGregor

Moral police, much ado about nothing. MMA blogers just have nothing else to talk about and want clicks. Yes/No
Yes it's a bit overblown but some of that is because of Jones himself.

It wouldn't be such a big deal if Jones hadn't said stuff like this:
"I think they trust that I will never make them look bad. You never have to worry about me getting a DWI or doing something crazy. I think I

You said overblown.

And no, it's not.

THE TIME IS NOW ! TRAILERS AND WORLDWIDE BROADCAST MOTHERFUCKERS ! THE TIME IS MOTHERFUCKING NOW !!!!!

Well... Not really right now but... Hey, do you want to ask questions to CB Dollaway ? No ? Really ? Well... No, the time is still not quite now... Maybe later... I suppose...

UFC fighters have been reprimanded, even lost their jobs, for less. So yes it is a big deal when Jon gets special treatment because he's UFC's goldenboy.

Schaub bitched about this on his podcast. I really haven't got a problem with "goldenboy" fighters getting preferential treatment. Do you think it's fair that a random 3-5 fighter should get the same treatment as an unbeaten guy that brings in PPV numbers?

In the end it will not matter much, his future is decided by how he conducts himself after

Apparently he is out of rehab now hahahaha that was quick

Im just glad he didnt do any of the hard drugs like marijuana, or else he could have been suspended.

This is a huge story because the NSA screwed up. They gave the wrong test and felt they had to publish it.

The world found about Jones and his drug use by mistake. This is the big story.

Half the guys would possibly fail the test, who knows? We aren't supposed to know.

The guy is believed to have possibly lied under oath, now this...

I think this is newsworthy.

I don't believe Jones is getting special treatment. It wasn't supposed to have been tested for. Guys don't get tested for it, he was tested via screw-up. If they want to punish Jones, they better be prepared to test everyone first and last and be consistent.

If marijuana is on the list, you know you are being tested for it, you shouldn't be taking it, or you will be punished.

I guess you could say that a pompous, holier-than-thou Christian who looks down on everyone turning out to be a morally bankrupt, hardcore-drug addict is, in a way, a non-story.

That such a person also happens to be mixed martial arts' pound-for-pound king obviously lends the story some journalistic noteworthiness.

Nailed it.

Maybe something about him being more eunuch than man was also interesting.
