Hi, don't know if this should be posted in the War Room or not. But, just curious to know, do they assign people jobs in Communist countries?

If you have never lived in a Communist country, or don't know someone who has, please provide a source.

Thanks.

Jobs assign you.

They send you an Adidas jumpsuit and your job is based on the color of the jumpsuit

They all get to work in Reebook factories.

It's an interesting question and I'm not sure how it all works.

I suspect that some communist countries are/were more controlling than others. I don't know that it gets to the point of assigning jobs though, like in The Giver.

As I understand it from reading about life in the USSR, no. For citizens of Soviet Union, they grew up and went through school just like anyone else in the West, with more political indoctrination. The major difference was that all employers you ended up with were operated by the government.

China is a poor example of a "communist" country. It's about as capitalist as it gets, but they just won't admit their "socialism" is dead.

Well I haven't been sent to the forced labor camps yet.

I will get back to you after like 6 months.

Interesting.. I wonder where the stereotype of Communist governments assigning citizens jobs came from..

EDIT: In North Korea they assign citizens jobs.. https://www.nknews.org/2013/11/how-do-you-get-a-job-in-north-korea/

Pretty sure they do.

I remember a few months back, one major tech company, which i can't remember the name of, appointed a Chinese woman to be in a high position.

Problem was that she had ties to the Chinese Gov't and the PLA.

She mentioned that it was commonplace for the gov to select your job.

I don't think it was Facebook or Cisco, but it was a company along those lines.

I'm guessing no fatties are assigned to be pornstar or stripper.
