Been out the gym for getting on 2 years.

Still have a load of protein powder and carnatine left. They are in unmarked packaging.

Can I still use them, or do i need to buy new?

This has been discussed in the past, with mixed opinions.

Personally, I think it's like any other aspect of your dietary intake; over time the molecular properties of the supplement will diminish and effectively lose its potency. For the sake of $60, I would just invest in some new products to make sure you are getting the most out of the supplements you are ingesting.

Another way to look at it is since you are just starting back up in the gym, you are going to see improvement no matter what, so at this point I don't think it really matters if you are using 2 year old supplements or new stuff.

Eh? Would it not make more sense, as he is just starting back up at the gym, to make sure the stuff he was using gave him the best possible gains. Especially protein to help him re build muscle.

That attitude is kinda like "doesn't really matter if it works or not, as you're just going back to the gym, so you'll see improvements either way". When really, it should be about him gaining the most from the stuff he ingests, either synthetically, or through his diet.

I don't see the point in just doing something blindly, without any real point to it
