This is a good matchup for Diaz i think

    Pros
-Diaz has longer reach and is taller
    -No Takedown threats
-No leg kicks threat (i could be wrong)
    -Diaz has a good chin
-Conor is not gonna get in hes head

    Cons
    -Cardio

So i think boxing will play a big factor here.. people are saying about how conor is gonna smoke him, but i don't see that happening.

What I find interesting about this fight is that Nate Diaz is way larger than any opponent that McGregor has faced and he also has good BJJ

How do we know McGregor isn't a takedown threat? Diaz can go to ground, but he's nowhere near the level of Aldo, RDA or Mendes - McGregor's last three opponents. Surely McGregor has been working extensively on his ground work considering these opponents, and trying it on Diaz would make sense.

I agree with the premise of the thread, but what makes you think Conor has a cardio advantage over Nate?

It is not unlikely that Diaz catches McG in a gogo...

Ok, who's stand up is better? nate's or Max holloway's? Id say Holloway's is light years better. Holloway is aggressive and tall. Much like Nate's. but conor beat him to the punch, every single exchange. This fight may play out very similar to that fight. But I think Nate is easier to hit than max. And nate will take much more punishment.

All the pros that mentioned, is a pro for conor, not diaz.

Nate's a BJJ black belt under Cesar Gracie. I highly doubt a striker with not much of a ground game is going to want to dive into his guard.

So a Diaz brother, who are renowned for their cardio, suddenly has no cardio. This, this fight is so disappointing because people are not appreciating it for what it is.

This is McGregor Vs Diaz. We should be applauding this, it's brilliant.

Watch the fight posted. Watch the fight where conor submitted a bjj black belt. This, "he has no ground game" is total crap. Anyone that has actually watched his fights outside of the ufc will know this...

I don't think it's going to come down to cardio. It's going to come down to nate taking a lot of punishment. and the ref stopping it.

Firstly, I said not much of a ground game. He wouldn't have got this far in mma with no ground game. What exactly is your point? Do you think Conor has an advantage in the grappling department and should go for TDs against a Cesar Gracie black belt?

Also, the fight posted was against a guy with a 2-1 record. The BJJ black belt you're talking about had recently lost to Artem Lobov.

Yeh Conor's gonna give Nate fits on the ground lol

Diaz con is cardio? What are you smoking?

Diaz trains BJJ his whole life, jesus christ. Did you just say Aldo and Mendes have a better ground game than Diaz? CM might submit Diaz..? Wow. Please go.

except the josh thompson fight where he got caught, we 've never seen diaz being dominated on the feet

First off, you're comparing current Holloway with present Diaz instead of past Holloway (the one McGregor fought) with present Diaz. Secondly, are we forgetting the Michael Johnson fight? Johnson has beaten plenty of good strikers himself and Nate made him look awful in their fight. McGregor's hype is getting insane right now. I wouldn't bet on this fight not because I think McGregor is going to win easily and is a huge favorite, but because I have no idea what's going to happen. I can easily see Nate starching McGregor for a dominant UD, absolutely picking him apart and Conor having nothing for him.

Nick is renowned for his cardio. Nate is not Nick.

yeah I don't get it. most thought mj would dominate Nate and look how that played out. as long as he's injury free and his hands are right, he's a serious threat. plus he's taking on a guy who's been fighting at fw who's going up 2 classes to a place where Diaz has already competed in the ufc. don't sleep on Nate.
