I do and I was just wondering how many people are actually involved other than just being fans.

i train bjj mostly now, compete a lot, i fought once, won't do it again... been training mma recently, but just for fun not to fight

I train BJJ to compete. Stopped doing Muy Thai cuz of the coma/concussion I had and fear of it but thinking about getting back in to soon.

it's just not worth it.
i won the fight, but suffered a concussion, it was my 4th concussion in 2 years (other 3 were in wrestling). shit like that's not worth it to me.. not enough money in it for me to even consider it a career, and i wouldn't do it just for shits and giggles...

I got my concussion from getting jumped by like 12 mexicans at a party where my alcohol level was so high the doctors told me the alcohol saved my life from the ass whopping I got. Was in acoma for 2 days and had to walk with a cane for 3 weeks after that. I had to fuckin take a shower sitting on a chair cuz there was risk of me passing out instantly.

I think once I get stationed in the ARMY I will do alittle MMA training but focus more on BJJ. I would rather compete in ADCC for less money then fight for Pride/UFC for more money. BJJ is way more fun

I just started BJJ, and I hope to have at least 1 amateur MMA fight in the next few years if i feel i'm prepared.

You'll find that a lot of the folk not here in the training areas don't train at all. Which I personally have no problem. Hell I love football doesn't mean I go out and find a try and find a league to get into.

I train JKD and BJJ. No ambitions to fight. I'm already in my 30's have a good job and like others said, the risks of serious injury at this point in my life aren't worth it. Just like to train. I may when I get better go out and do some tourneys in BJJ but thats about it.

BJJ and judo, with a bit of kickboxing, boxing, and MMA in there.

I train BJJ to compete. I love boxing, but that's just training for fun; not looking to fight (same reason guys mentioned above - concussions are not fun).

Almost exactly the same for me, but throw in a kid or 2 and change JKD for Karate once a week.

I'm training sub grappling mostly, trying to transition into MMA. I want to compete in MMA eventually, just to see if it's for me. Already competed and done alright as far as grappling.

Currently I train in BJJ, but not as often as I'd like because of other priorities (finishing college, CPA exam, flatland riding).

BJJ and Muay Thai.

I'd like to fight once or twice for the hell of it, but I'm too old to consider it for anything other than a 'just to say I did' experiance. Besides, the pay/lifestyle doesn't nearly balance itself out.

The gym I go to claims its American Jiu Jitsu, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the difference is between it and BJJ. I've been going for about 3 months now and we also do a bit boxing, muay thai, etc... I joined to learn and get back into shape and now I'm planning on competing in local MMA fights. I'm hoping my first fight will be around feb or march of next year.

I train to fight in BJJ or SW tournaments. MMA comes last.
