This goes for the non english speaking sherbros, do any fighter has a name that sounds or litteraly is another word in your language? Belan muhamed in the butt of all the jokes in the portuguese commentary cause belal is a way to say cock in portuguese, whenever he's fighting you can expect for a bunch of sexual jokes

get it over with and rub it out TS

then enjoy the rest of your day with the Big Brain

This thread has potential already.

Poirier means "pear tree". Cormier is also a tree, but it's not exactly common so most French people aren't aware of that. Couture means sewing/stitching/seaming. Belfort means "beautiful castle", and it's also the name of a city which was pretty significant in our various wars against Prussia/Germany.

Chandler sounds like Chandeleur, which is Candlemass (the Holiday, not the band).

BJ Penn sounds funny in English

Also there were a lot of "Hooker gonna get DP" jokes being made around these parts when Dustin Poirier fought Dan Hooker
Good ones! :D

Sabah means Grand father in Hebrew. (Sabah Homasi) but it sounds a bit different then how his name is pronounced. The first A is short in his name but is longer in the word in Hebrew.

I always laugh when RDA fights.
"Dos Anjos" means "From the angels" in Portuguese. That's beautiful, right?

But these dumbasses commentators all say his name like from Spanish, and it sounds like "Dos años" which means "2 years old" in Spanish.... not as nice

Yep it means that, in reality the way the commentators say his name sounds like dois anus in portuguese which means two buttholes. Mike goldberg was the one that came closest to pronounce his name right which in highsight is just ironic
