The obvious reason to take it is because it's a huge money fight that there's no guarantee will come again. The belt will always be around, but that Conor fight means bank.

Yeah but Aldo is at a point right now is where he needs to take the money train whenever it passes him. Two reasons: the Conor brand has already depreciated some post Diaz, and there was no guarantee at that point that he was ever going to get to fight Conor again.

All that said, he got KOed pretty badly 3 months ago and should sit out for a while longer.

Aldo stepping up for the replacement made no sense, moving up for no belt/reward (a rematch you could argue he deserved). You can paint them as pussies, but the fact is its easy to be brave, move weights when youre not risking the strap. When a loss potentially puts you out of the hunt for 2-3 years, especially for someone like Aldo who got boned of a rematch after 10years undefeated.
