No belt on the line. MM doesn't risk losing the belt, TJ gets the proper fight he's been training for. Fans get the matchup we want

Win-Win for everyone. Why is this not an option?

King MO doesn't do catchweight, weighs like 215 and fights heavyweight.

Because it is a waste of time for both guys? TJ wants a belt so much he doesn't care if it is in a division he hasn't ever fought at, and DJ wants a title defense record.

At this point in time, belts are losing its value compared to big "money" match ups. The title defense isn't going anywhere for DJ.

Oddly enough, I don't think they care what your(or anyone's) opinion on the "value" of a UFC title is.

Cody has been officially ruled out for only a couple weeks. TJ hasn't made that much of a commitment to training for DJ. lol

What is the point in fighting at catch weight neither guy benefits from it and the only benefit that DJ gets if TJ makes weight is 11 defenses and if TJ wins he is the champion other than that neither guy benefits at all.
    Ridiculous idea

Yes, catchweights are for making money. Neither of these guys move the needle to the point that a catchweight fight would do anything in terms of PPV numbers.

    It's a lose-lose for everyone.

Just speaking about Dillashaw; if he loses, does anyone seriously believe he will still fight for a title at 135?

Why would TJ fight MM without a belt on the line?

Yea but why would DJ waste a fight when legacy is the most important thing to him? That 11th title defense is extremely important to him and at catch weight he does not get it nor does he get it if TJ comes in at 126. He has to weigh 125 for it to be a title fight and that has been the argument from the start. He countered with if TJ does not make 125 he gets TJ's show money since the 11th title defense is out the window which is fair in my opinion but the Bald eagle dick head has taken it personal and refuses to give in and now DJ has exposed that piece of shit completely. Fuck Dana

Catch weight fight is pointless. Lets just give DJ his fight vs Borg for the record so he quits whining like a little bitch. That's what he really wants so let him get his record. Hopefully he grows a pair after he beats another can and fights TJ or Cody. If he moves up to 135lbs pay the man. If they come to him he deserves no extra money.

Dana should bribe TJ to weigh in at 126, just to piss off MM.

Why did Dilly offer himself up for this fight anyway? Where and who is his biggest fight?

    It's certainly not Demetrious Johnson.

This is DJ's fault. He's looking at it from a "supposed to" point-of-view, when supposed to's has got nothing to do with life. I'm a guy who's made a sports wager a time or two, and through the years, I've learned that you don't bet on who looks like they're supposed to win. You bet on other factors. In this case, he thinks he's supposed to earn x amount because he's a 10x champ and P4P best. But he doesn't move the needle. That's all there is to it.

Nobody is saying he isn't great, or that he needs to change anything, but no one really cares about him (i.e. his division).

Not an option, because no manufactured drama that way.

Because the UFC would say no....No title implications? No headlining a PPV. It's the whole reason for Dana's dimwitted plan of just having TJ suddenly move out of a 135 title fight, and fight the 125 champ. He's so incredibly limited in ideas, and marketing possibilities that this is all he can think of. That's how bad Dana is at his job. Oh and his way of dealing with the situation HE CREATED is by trying to assassinate the character of the guy he was telling everyone was the absolute best fighter of all time a little while ago. It's so ridiculous it's sad.

IF the UFC would simply pay MM, he would fight TJ at 135, 125, or any weight for that matter. If TJ simply fought a top contender at 125 and won? DJ would be fighting TJ next without any need for extra money.

Too many people seem to be confused about this, or just willfully playing dumb and pretending DJ is somehow ducking or scared to fight TJ.

I didn't know that Garbrandt was going to be gone for a year. No, it's only a few weeks. And if he loses, he will be unlikely to another title shot at BW.

Don't tell me that a lost to Johnson won't matter because it will. This is the UFC and loyalty means nothing.
