There is literally no one left for DJ at FLW.

If DJ ever hopes to make bank, he needs super fights and he needs it now while he's still at his peak. With every fight that he excepts, there is potential danger that he gets caught with a bomb to the dome. The moment he loses his aura of invincibility, he will never be able to make that Anderson Silva money.

He needs to stop this bullshit and start making that bread.

He just made $285k by smashing Cejudo and getting a POTN bonus and the reebok 40k. Not too bad.

Plus, 135 isn't that big of a draw either, even though it's a great class.

There's plenty of guys, Wilson Reis just wasn't the right choice.

They should have gone forward with their TUF tournament then matched up Smolka, Nguyen, Reis, Scoggins, Formiga, and Pettis to decide on the next challenger in 2017.

1. false, he is fighting Wilson Reis, and can still fight Formiga, Little Pettis, Scoggins, etc.

2. He is already making bank, and doesn't care about ppv numbers, he's already stated he will fight 3 more times at Fly before considering a fight at BW.

3. He is less full of bullshit than any other champion. He goes in, kicks ass, and then goes back and trains some more, he doesn't talk shit, he doesn't get in trouble, he does his job, and he fights several times a year consistently and always tries to finish his opponents. No other champion in history can say that, who has been as successful as MM.

Wish he did, but its not happening. Just watch any interview where he gets asked about this or Cruz.

Always runs from it with the excuse he is focused on beating the anderson silva title defense record.

MM doesn't fight. He competes.

LOL, "excuse."

DJ is in his prime, and knows he can break the record within another year. Why wouldn't he? If he takes a fight with Cruz, 1. he will probably lose and 2. Cruz could get injured and waste valuable time that MM could spend on beating more Flys and extending his record. DJ doesn't need to move up any more than Jones does.

No he's not moving to Bantamweight for at least another 3 fights. That's not a big deal unless you make it one.

Seriously now?

I'm saying match those guys up and see who comes out on top.
But sure, if Pettis goes on a 4-5 fight win streak I'd watch Demetrious Johnson vs. Sergio Pettis in 2017. No problem.

Doesn't mean he can't move up for 1 fight and come back down when an actual contender emerges.

Even if he beats Silva's record, he beat it on easy mode. Silva beat it on expert.

I don't think he needs to move up. 135 is no more relevant right now than 125, so there's no point. He should stay at 125 and break Anderson's record of title defenses. Meanwhile, get him more coverage, the guy is clearly intelligent, has a good philosophy when it comes to life and fighting, and could be very marketable to a new demographic (playing into his Twitch gaming angle). He's only 29, and he fights at 125 - he doesn't get hit that hard - there's plenty of time left to make a huge splash and I think his fights and his title defense will eventually speak for themselves. I really think that eventually we will mention his record along with Fedor's, that's how long he could stay dominant at 125. Once he puts together a stretch like that, you can't deny him, and neither will casual fans with a little media help.

In consecutive order was Patrick Cote, Thales Leites, and Demian Maia. Everyone complained, especially given how easy Silva made it look.

After that was Chael Sonnen who everyone complained about too. The message boards s*** all over the middleweight division during that time, and then suddenly Sonnen dominated.

Nah he can be the pioneer of the 125 division and probably win the consecutive defense record.

once Asia gets more involved in the UFC and MMA in general 125 will become a much more relevant weight class.

from what i have seen in thailand 125 isnt even the smallest weight class. there is competition out there it just needs to become involved in the world wide MMA circuit.

And, what? Abandon the division? Why be the second best up a class when he can be king at 125?

Can people just leave DJ alone?

Have an all out Royal Rumble with every fighter from both divisions. Last man standing is the champ of the new 130 lb division.
