Disneyland: The Latest Victim of the Anti-Vaxxers

So, how do people contract a disease they've been vaccinated against?

Just like some people get the same illness twice, on rare occasion a person will not create, or will somehow lose the memory cells for the antigen in question. Vaccines have the additional layer of potential failure due to the fact that the antigen needs to be stored until use, and can denature before being applied.

There's not going to be.

There is going to be constant repetition of 'counter-points' though, despite them already being answered several times in the very thread they have been posted in.

And that is why we have rising numbers of infections of measles.

But at least Jenny McCarthy cured her childs Autism and Lizard People aren't sterilizing us.

We really should make Jenny McCarthy head of the CDC. Pretty sure she is the only person to cure autism. Maybe a Nobel prize too.

See, this was already gone over in this thread, but if you need a basic education in the topic you're arguing, there are a variety of medical databases you can search, and Wikipedia has actually been shown to be the equal of most of the best encyclopedia brands in regards to scientific and medical entries.

Just remember... big pharma bought off the entire medical establishment. Somehow, big oil can't get more than a few dozen scientists to go along with a view favorable to them... but yeah, the entire scientific world belongs to big pharma.

To my knowledge she is, and yet she refuses to share that knowledge with the world. If anyone is the monster, her refusal to share this cure is a refusal to help hundreds of thousands, and could massively advance our knowledge and understanding shows that she is the true monster.

Or she's just @#$%ing dumb.

Either way.

If you can look at her face and honestly say she's not a lizard person, I'll personally make an anti-vaccine porn tape for the WR.

??? She said what she did to cure him.

Gluten free, caesin free diet. Vitamins. Anti fungals to combat yeast overgrowth in the intestines.

Thats how you cure autism. Duh.

I'm surprised more people are wearing masks with how bad the air pollution is nowadays. If you don't get sick from disease the air quality will be a killer eventually.

Again, I'm not against vaccines. I'm wondering why a vaccinated person would be worried about non-vaccinated people.

I can understand the herd-immunity concept in that immune people protect those without the immunity. I was wondering how a person with immunity can get infected.

Now, if there are time/immunity factors than I can understand.

In light of all the third-worlders pouring across the border one would be wise to get a fresh update of all his vaccines. Correct?

You sound like a guy who would get mad about a thousand lives being saved by a vaccine, but one person dying of complications, because evil government.

I'm generally against the use of force. And force being used for the "greater good" is many times abused.

At some point a baby will die and the infecter's parents will do 5 years for manslaughter.

Usually people coming into a country have to be vaccinated to the threats of that country, but a mobile population is one reason there is such a strong cross border or even worldwide push for vaccination (which is one of the reasons Polio vaccines were pushed so hard in places like India, having huge populations like that immunized protects people in the US)

One of the main concerns is that NOT EVERYONE can be vaccinated. A very small segment of the population is often not able to be for various medical reasons, but seperate from them are At Risk populations like children and the elderly.

Many Vaccines are not able to be administered until a child has reached a certain age, and until then, contact with adults who are potential carriers is a real concern. For some vaccines which are administered in parts, even after the first innoculation the child is still vulnerable.

For the other half of the group, the Elderly, everything is a threat to a weakened immune system. The same goes for people who are already ill.

So, why would I, a Vaccinated person, be concerned about your not being vaccinated? Because we both might have children and parents. This is the central missing piece in most of these discussions, people don't exist in a vacuum, and the ESPECIALLY don't exist seperately when it comes to disease.

Some basic health research might be in order. I get that this is a discussion board but you're basically asking the health and public safety equivalent of "what's 10 x 10"? Sure it's more difficult than 1 + 1 but the answer should not be too hard to come by.

Very good explanation. I appreciate it.

No worries. This topic is always difficult and a big part of that is people wanting to deal with unreasonable and not even proposed absolutes, as if supporting the use of tried, tested vaccination immediately equals support for The Government injecting everyone with anything they want at any time.

A very interesting part of this topic to look into is the difficulties the world medical community had and still has with trying to introduce vaccines to much of the undeveloped world, and the barriers they face and objections they encounter. They are weirdly similar to the same objections that many people have developed in the first world.

For example, the argument often is used that it's the vaccines that make people sick, and before the healthcare workers appeared everyone was healthy. If you were following the events, you'll note that was also pertty much the exact same reasoning many people in areas with Ebola outbreaks used to blame healthcare workers, saying things like 'It's the hospital that is to blame, people go healthy and never come back', leading to people hiding their disease and not seeking treatment, spreading the virus to their family members, and increasing the disaster in the community, which then is blamed on the healthcare workers again (usually reasoned that they are part of some government conspiracy to sicken everyone).

Anyways, that's getting pretty off-track, but it's a very interesting study in human behaviour.
