I'm a big Zhuravlev/Russian fighters fan, and I was really disappointed how he was outworked by a 300 years old, past prime Cro Cop. It wasn't the last K-1 GP that disappointed me, it was specifically Cro Cop's fight against Zhuravlev. Well, happy for Cro Cop, nice for him to be capable to beat such an opponent. Maybe the competition in this GP was weaker than normally, but Cro Cop really did a great work, just by beating Pavel. Kinda re-legitimizing Cro Cop while de-legitimizing HW kickboxing at the same time. Weird situation.

Pavel looked like three times worse against Cro Cop than versus Moroşanu. I hate it because he proved before in many events he can fight in tournaments winning them. The competition in this GP wasn"t weak, but Mirko has profited of the draw (getting Miller first) and of some injuries. Londt for example raised up.

Maybe Zhuravlev got some damage because of Moroşanu. We must also give some credit to Cro Cop because he was tough starting with the semifinal especially and that kick in the final was awesome. I don"t know why nobody tried uppercuts in order to open him, those clinches... He is good at that! He aalso punched pretty well.

And to think that Cro Cop was going to fight Morosanu and everybody said that Morosanu is going to walk through him easily...

why did they change that matchup btw? Crocop was supposed to fight Morosanu

Cro Cop is no slouch. I dont know why the disappointment. They counted him out on the World Max card and I said he could win the Grand Prix, and he knocked out a young fighter Loren Javier Jorge. He's still dangerous! Pavel put up a good fight against a tough vet and it was not his night. It's no different from loosing to Peter Aerts. They both still have skills. Pavel just won the SK tournament. He did not put on a shameful performance against Cro Cop he just ran into some old tricks.
