The Uzcategui fight was an eye opener in the sense that Dirrell actually didn't fight poorly and showed heart, but it was simply not nearly enough. Dirrell showed as well as he possibly could have and just wasn't up for the task. Granted, Uzcategui might not be far away from being genuinely special, but we clearly saw that Dirrell isn't cut out for the top level anymore, and giving up even more size really isn't the way to go (the guy clearly wasn't big for SMW). One would hope that a guy with a history of brain injuries doesn't continue to put himself in harm's way even if he needs the cash, but this doesn't seem like a story with a happy ending.
