It was just announced that Rapahel Assuncao will undergo surgery on his ankle this week and hopes to be back before the end of the year. He's been battling the ankle injury for over a year and it may be a long time before he's completely healed and ready to train. With Dom Cruz's situation know whos when or if he will able to come back for a fight, not just train. That leaves little option for TJ's Next opponents if Cruz cant fight at this point. Faber seems to be the only reasonable option for a title and even he doesn't really deserve a shot losing to Frankie in his last fight- he did beat Rivera and Caceres back to back and he is a big draw. They are really good friends but still the money might be good enough. The other options may be TJ vs. Mighty Mouse.

Here is the current top 8 at 135:

    Champion : TJ Dillashaw
    1 Renan Barao
    2 Dominick Cruz
    3 Raphael Assuncao
    4 Urijah Faber
    5 Michael McDonald
    6 Bryan Caraway
    7 Aljamain Sterling
    8 Takeya Mizugaki

True it probably won't happen but that still leaves us with the question of who will fight TJ next?

If it happens and Dillashaw is still title holder, all signs point to Faber losing.

Raphael Assuncao or Dominick Cruz. Maybe Edgar.

Maybe caraway. People know his name because of his famous girlfriend.

Edgar vs Dillashaw would be a great fight. I kinda want to see him fight Aldo again and Conor at FW though.

Same. But realistically with Aldo/McGregor squaring off in December, if he fights the winner he's guna be waiting till spring next year earliest.

I'd rather see him fight dillashaw before Xmas and take it from there

even if they agreed to do it, i don't think anyone wants to see faber fight for another belt. i sure don't.
