Dillashaw trying to pick on smaller guys

Yes its a bitch move, whether he can make the weight or not. You don't chase belts in lower weight classes, you challenge up in weight against stiffer competition
Would you say the same thing about Forrest? MM was considered the best fighter by many.

If it was Jones trying to fight a mediocre fighter like Bisping when Bisping was champ, I could agree with you. But not here. TJ could sit comfortably in his weak division and clean up fights, but he wanted to take a risk and challenge himself against one of the all time greats. And he is not particularly large for 135 and before UFC 227 I don’t even know if TJ would’ve been the favorite. That just doesn’t fit the definition of a bitch move. A bitch move is sitting on your couch playing on your phone calling other men bitches who are willing to cut weight and get into a closed octagon to fight some of the best p4p fighters in the world. What they’re doing (or tried to do) actually takes big balls.

And yes, DJ and Cody do weigh the same on fight night.

Preach

Holloway and Ortega are huge FWs. Tj vs Frankie, Aldo, Stephens, korean zombie, or chad mendes would be legit. Honestly tho DJ and TJ could be the same size at some point.

Trying to fight the #1 p4p fighter in the sport makes him a pussy? Yes you guys really are dumb motherfuckers

TJ is willing to make the weight but DJ was trying to pull a Ronda and duck him.
TJ still had Cruz and Cody to fight and now Moraes and even Assuncao there is really no reason to drop down a weightclass when your current one still has big fights for you. If anything DJ should've moved up but he can't make it at 135 so why do it.

He defeated assuncao already and Cruz is basically the 135 pound Cain Velasquez. Also, he had knocked out Cody before this fight. That superfight was the best case scenario for both of those guys.

Any time a fighter chases a fight with a smaller opponent, it's a bitch move. Every time. Anderson chasing Georges? Bitch move. P4P doesn't matter, if you're the bigger fighter facing a smaller guy, you are SUPPOSED to win, it doesn't increase your credibility at all.

Forrest didn't chase that fight. Anderson did, and all xanax aside, Forrest was the same size as Anderson. He had an inch in height, and gave up an inch in reach.

No, it's actually a valid point.

No, he doesn't.
you make the weight and it's still a bitch move?

cody the guy he'd just viciously knocked out needed to be delt with?? Cruz meanwhile broke his arm in training not really someone tj needed to go after either. DJ apologists have such weak dogma.

This whole thread is garbage TJ vs DJ isn't any bigger weight different then tj vs cody! 7.5 lbs! Arguably if tj cut down to 125 he'd be virtually the same size as dj. Dern misses weight by more then that ffs.

if you can make the weight it's fair game. now fuck off with this crap. you people are getting annoying with this
The
I thought it was pretty ballsy. Mighty mouse was #1 p4p at the time.

Similar level of challenge as Forrest fighting Anderson Silva
na, The ballsy move is going up to 145, not cutting to 125 to fight a smaller man.

What an original thread...

*He called out the #1 p4p fighter for a fight in his weight class.
* TJ has never missed weight in his career. He is not oversized for his weight class and he can make 125.
*He is one of the, if not the most skilled fighter in MMA and he was looking to solidify his place amongst the top p4p list...
*by beating an 11x defending champ and taking his title to become a two weight champ.

Sadly Mighty Mouse sucked the ever loving shit out of that fight, then lost to Cejudo. They were supposedly planning on pairing up TJ and DJ after their last fights but Mighty Mouse didn't keep up his end of he deal and win his fight to stay champ.

Where is the Whiney boo hoo bullshit over the countless other fighters who have gone down in weight? Oh, ok... this is just selective TJ hate, got it.

I believe the ideal male height is 5'5". That much, we can all agree on. It's the height our great grandchildren will be. We have that research. But how important is 'reach' and at what point does it become a hindrance? Cejudo almost died in a fire, so you know he's ready to go!
The ideal male height is 5’5??? What the fuck are you even talking about?

No, he doesn't.

Anderson didn't start the GSP fight talk, GSP and Dana did. Anderson just said yes and then basically kept talking about it because GSP backed out after bringing it up in the first place.

Anderson also never chased Forrest, Forrest was supposed to be a punishment for the Laites and Cote fights and was meant to be him being Forrest into getting into a fight against a tough, bigger fighter 1 fight removed from being a title holder who always comes to fight and won't take a backwards step or be afraid to engage.

Didn't quite go as planned in hindsight though, lol

You speak as if this is unusual. Randy Couture, B.J.Penn, Kenny Florian, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, Diego Sanchez come immediately to mind as doing this and I could go on and on. Many times its a step up in competition when a fighter steps down in weight class. A pertinent fact that you seem to be overlooking is that the fighter himself has to shrink his body to fight with the smaller guys, and rest assured, there are plenty of guys waiting for him who themselves have shrunk their bodies from a naturally larger size as well. So, to answer your question, no, it does not seem like a bitch move.
Preach, brother.

Na play boy, You punch up not down. Barking at TJ while not saying shit to a bigger badder man in Max speaks volume on his mentality.

DJ for his part should have gone to 135 (we are told by both DJ and TJ that DJ has accepted the fight before getting injured)

Where does 7.5lb come from? I’m confused because there is a 10lb weight difference not 7.5lb.
