Despite Nick arriving on the scene as a remarkably unique fighter, there is one fighter who comes extremely close to replicating his style.

Do you take Nate as an exact copy of Nick or do you think they have some differences?

From what I have observed:

Nick has more power pound for pound, he has tko victories over big or tough guys like Frank Shamrock, Paul Daley and Marius Zaromskis. In contrast during Nate's bout with Cerrone Goldberg observed "it looks like a mit session Joe" yet Diaz couldn't convert his dominance into a tko.

I'd say Nate has shown a better ability to defend against kicks and more movement. I think Nick has a slightly more aggressive personality.

Andre Ward breaks their differences down as boxers really well. Nate is a technically better boxer who uses his jab well. Nick likes to throw a bit harder but also eat punches to deliver punches.

I didn't see that do you have a link?

They are very different fighters. Nick is more of an infighter and swarmer, looking to push you back and get you on the cage with extremely high volume and long combinations.

Nate is much more of an outfighter, long jabs and straight all the time, and actually uses his kicks somewhat.

Obviously there are similarities, but they are not the same type of fighter at all.

Nick had an interview explaining their differences.

It was sort of recent, anybody have it?

Nate doesn't pressure as much as Nick and Nate uses his reach better IMO.

Their boxing coach Richard Perez once said that Nate is better at maintaining his distance and using his reach and Nick is better at trading shots in the pocket

That sums it up perfectly imo

Nate employees some Judo against the fence, I don't recall seeing this from Nick.

What others have said and I would also add that Nate has better jiu jitsu or at least it translates better in the cage or he just uses it more. He has alot more submission victories than Nick.

Nick's in here gogoing people and shit

Nate doesn't punch the body as much or as hard, Nate has weaker TDD or just goes to his back more easily but has a more active sub game, Nick has a bit stronger wrestling and clinch game, Nate is a bit more technical with his boxing and Nick is a bit heavier on the head games.

The difference = out of shape Nate finishes Cloner in 2 rounds, an out of shape Nick would do it in 1.

They are different, and yet almost exactly the same. One thing is for sure, if you needed someone to spar with to replicate a Diaz, you would need his brother.
