Did a search, and couldn't find anything, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

I'm looking into buying some MMA training gloves, and am interested in the IMF model that CSI makes, as well as CSI's own MMA training glove. I see that the IMF has injected molded foam, and the CSI has multiple layers of preogressively harder foam. They almost look exactly the same, save for the different leather shell color.

Does anyone have either pair of these? Can anyone tell me if they feel different? Is one harder? Tighter? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm, the IMF ones seem to be closer to the Shooto style, with more of the padding up front etc.

"Injection Molded Foam Techology™ is an innovative, Injection Molded Foam padding system. We create a mold of a fist with 2.5" of protection over the knuckles and tapering towards the wrist and finger tips. The mold is then injected with a specific formula of liquified foam. After it sets, the foam is removed from the mold resulting in a single layer of thick durable foam padding pre-curved to the shape of a fist. We feel it is the most advanced padding system available and is ideal for extended training sessions."

Basically, IMF is a newer technology and should be a bit softer and more durable. I can't really comment though since I have never used any of our IMF gloves on the mat - though, I have used the TG4's plenty of times and love them.

IMF is just a newer and in theory better foam system. I'm putting a pair of IMF bag gloves on my christmas list

i have a pair of the ringside imf tech training glove in 16 oz.

beware that the striking surface is much harder than the average training glove.

so i wouldn't use them for sparring. i use them on the bag. it's a great glove.

Just got the IMF MMA gloves.
Good news/Bad news: Good it the padding. Great for your partners and safety. Better than the MMA safety gloves. Also the IMF are narrower which is better.

Bad news: The leather is thin! It feels really cheap like you could tear it with your fingernails. I don't know how long these will last. I wish the leather was better as I like them better than the safety gloves.

Personally, I owned both and didn't like either and sold them.
