What do you think of such a fight ? I would like the wolf tickets, the talk, possibly the bloodbath.

And Diaz vs Don Anjos is not such a good matchup. Why not Dos Anjos vs Khabib for the nr 1 contender?

Nate boxes him up, possibly subs him after Diego starts to get careless

How many people have subbed Diego Sanchez? Zero human beings in 32 fights, bro. He powered through a better striker and grappler and bigger Nick Diaz, Nate will not be boxing him up and subbing him. Nate's worst nightmare is powerful grapplers with good sub defense.

Diego now is not the same Diego that fought Nick at all.

I think alot of people are underestimating Diego. He still has a fire in him. Just because he lost to Fury doesnt mean hes done. Gil almost got KTFO by Diego and Gil is now no1 contender.

I would love to see this fight.

How many people had sub'd Jim Miller?

Good one. People give Diego Sanchez a lot of crap (for his out-of-ring character and his face-to-their-fist style) but he's no Jim Miller. Sanchez has fought nothing but top competition for nearly a decade, being competitive at both 155 and 170 divisions. He's not just a good LW but he's a big LW. Nate had absolutely nothing for Benson and Thompson; Diego is always competitive save for like a lashing from Motivated BJ Penn.

Diego and Nick were two different fighters back then. Nicks boxing wasn't even considered good back then. People considered him and Diego as pretty much just grapplers. It wasn't until Nick was in strikeforce people started saying his boxing was good. After that his reputation as bjj guy pretty much went away. He changed his style after his first UFC run because of losing close decisions. Imo Diego was at his best back then. i do think Nate would beat Diego by decision because like you said Diego is hard to sub.

Diego wins the first 2 rounds easily with grapplefuckin', Nate gives him the finger between rounds and comes out bitchslapping Diego, a brawl ensues, Diego starts leaking blood like a madman, gets his ass outboxed for the first half of the last round, dives for a desperation TD and gets subbed by a gogo.

Im a big Nick Diaz fan and not don't promote "UFC is teh best" message but can it also be said that perhaps Nick Diaz's boxing didn't get better but he was able to use it when he left UFC? Nick went on to fight Gomi (primarily striker), KJ Noons (primarily striker, former pro boxer), Frank Shamrock (I think Frank was content with a standup affair), Zaromskis (primarily striker), Sakurai, Cyborg (striker), Daley (striker) --these (favorable) matchups outside the UFC allowed Nick Diaz's standup to shine. When he returned, it was quickly proven that Nick perhaps was not all that different, going 1-2 in his return to UFC.

Plus, Nick's boxing was already good in his first UFC run because he outboxed and KOd Robbie Lawler. He just couldn't use it because of the grappling-heavy talent base in UFC. I like Nick but I tink it's false to say he got better when he left UFC; I think he was always good, he still just can't handle powerful grapplers.

Diego > Diaz bros, past or present, Nick or Nate (esp. Nate, a smaller, less skilled version).
