Diego Sanchez says he made 'smart, veteran decision' taking DQ over Michel Pereira

He has no chance at a title shot and he's in need of wins to keep his future purses at a respectable level. He had no chance of winning and a loss could knock him down to prelims going forward. Diego made a business decision. Frankly, as nutty as he is I'm shocked he made the smart move. But for a fighter in the twilight of his career, he did the right thing. He's already paid his dues.

This is that sissy culture in MMA Stephan A has been talking about.

Instead of calling a spade a spade everyone wants to make excuses for Diego and his piss poor performance and quitting first chance he seen a way out.

Does not mean he has not been a very entertaining fighter in the past but the fact is he quit in this fight.
imo he threw away all his hard work and credibility over the years in one stupid moment. if he was unable to continue he would have been on the ground all fucked up. he had the option to take 5 minutes and recover, didn't even do that. Doctor also said he had vision in both eyes.

It was a smart move. Questionable, but it was smart for his win bonus and record.
