People always are picky when it comes to who should get into the HoF. But if there is one guy who never won a title who should be in the UFC HoF, it's Diego Sanchez.

- 26-8, very solid record
-1st TUF winner ever
- Never been in a boring fight
- Has put on so many wars it is hard to remember all
- Title challenger
- Overall loyalty to the company and never backing out
- I don't think he's ever pulled out of a fight until recently

depends on how his relationship w the ufc is at the end of his career

I like Diego a lot! He's a fierce competitor and likes to have stand up wars, but is he hall of fame worthy?..No! He has a nice MMA record, but still does not get him, into the hall of fame.

Bonnar is in the hall of fame,so yes, Diego can be as well. Ufc lol

I'll yes cartwheel my way into this thread, yes!

of coarse. anyone who donst think so must be brand new

Like others have said if Bonnar's in there, it's hard nigh on impossible to deny Diego a spot there. The guy's scarcely ever been in a boring fight, too. Melendez, Guida, Diaz, Karo, Kampmann, Ellenberger, Thiago, the list goes on and on and on.

The UFC HOF is a complete joke but if there were any type of legitimate criteria for getting in I would say no. He's actually only 15-8 in the UFC. He never held a belt and only had one title fight (meaning he could never get back to that top level).

Dude is one hell of a fun fighter to watch, though.

Further proof that the UFC Hall of Fame is ridiculous. It actually has the potential to be a pretty legitimate thing, but they screwed it up by letting in people like Forrest and Bonnar, so the bar is low. The bullet points listed are the best things Diego brings to the table...and most people who've responded so far to this post seem to think it's enough. If you consider what it takes to get into other sports' halls of fame, the criteria for the UFC are pretty slim. The flip side of the points above:

- Diego fought once for the title and got absolutely destroyed.
- Has been in wars, but so have lots of other guys who wouldn't otherwise warrant consideration.
- Exciting fights but pretty much no finishes - every single one of his fights since 2008 (except the BJ stoppage) has been a decision.
- Hasn't pulled out of fights, but luckily for him he's never been badly injured enough to need to. Tons of other guys have also fought though injuries and not pulled out.

Don't get me wrong, I have a ton of respect for Diego and absolutely love watching his fights (the first minute or two of his fight with Clay Guida might be my favorite thing that ever happened in the cage), but I don't think he's a HOF-caliber fighter, especially alongside people like Penn, Liddell, Royce, etc.

Diego has had a very good career, but he's not HOF-worthy in my opinion. To me, being a champion is almost a prerequisite for entrance into the HOF. It's about honoring the best of the best. People keep mentioning Bonnar in reference to Diego's HOF credentials, but Bonnar isn't in because of his credentials; he's in because some people believe that is fight with Forrest saved the company. It's an entirely different proposition. And even if you disagree with Bonnar's place in the HOF, that's not a rational basis for inducting another non-worthy fighter.

nah, middle of the road his entire career, didn't have the griffin/bonnar notable fight, record should be much worse. he's fine how he is.

No not even close. Introducing fighters because they are a fan favourite or likeable or gutsy makes a joke out of the HOF an even bigger joke than it is now especially when guys like Frank Shamrock aren't in it.
If you introduce Diege then you can intorduce probably 100 other fighters throughout the history of the UFC up until this point

you know? I was a Diego fan when TUF 1 happened... never missed a fight he was in, but I read your title and I was like....mmmm...mmmm...dont think so.

After reading your arguments, I gotta say yes

I say yes, for the same reason that Phil Davis, John Fitch, Ben Askren aren't in the UFC.

It's not all about your record. Warrior spirit and entertainment value should always be factors.

Wouldn't shock me but I don't think it's gonna happen. His TUF finale was too one sided.
