Joe Rogan just said on the T.U.F. finale that when Sanchez was training under Greg Jackson he was a black belt, but then he went to train under Saulo Ribeiro he demoted himself to white belt and a couple years later he is now brown... Rogan said he is black belt levelthough. Weird?

I wonder how a former instructor would feel about his student demoting from a black belt himself after he moves on to a "better" instruction. Gotta burn a little...

Different styles ... like having a BB in TKD and wearing a white to Judo, it's normal ... its just different styles ... Rogan was mainly talking about his ground game he just didn't clarify how Greg Jacksons camp is a hybrid style not bjj

At Sanchez's level its no big deal. He's not doing it to sandbag. He also left Jackson's camp on bad terms combined with trying to show Saulo he was willing to start all over made it an easy decision.

This is different then a regular joe demoting himself from blue when he switches schools and not telling anyone because he's scared of getting tapped or because he just wants to run through whites.

Whats gotta burn.. There to different styles. One is submission wresting the other is bjj. Saulo said that if he wanted to train he would have to start from white belt and commit to the team. If anything it complements jackson for training diego in grappling and diego being able to go from a white to brown belt in bjj in 2 years.

If anything I think it showed diego's commitment to truly wanting to learn jiu jitsu. Who cares about the belt, just learn as much as you can from a great jiu jitsu master.

^ I agree with the above 3 posts. War Diego! What a fight he put on tonight. He even showed some of that brown belt JJ.

From all I've heard, Dirty Sanchez never did gi in his life at Greg Jacksons. The first thing Saulo did was put a gi on him. His results speak for themself

why is diego such a d-bag now... he was a lot cooler when he first came in. fans love Guida!

^^^Sanchez kind of talk a bit of shit about Guida and Ken Flo and people didn't take it lightly. I think it's weird that someone under Saulo was talking shit period just because of what Saulo expects out of his students. Look around on here. There's a few articles regarding it.

if you guys remember diego grappled agaisnt marcelo awhile back and did very well. Hes grappling game is upper level. he trained no gi im sure and when he started bjj with a gi then of course white belt, but obviously his skill level is not that so he is about where he should be now.he has legit skills.

Wow, never done GI, that explains why he started off at white belt with Saulo, he didn't have any GI skills.
