John McTiernan is Not a Fan of Mad Max: Fury Road and Captain America

In an interview with Premiere (en Francais, and Google translated), John McTiernan (Die Hard, Predator) had tough words for one of the most acclaimed films of 2015, George Miller‘s Mad Max: Fury Road. Well, I thought the first Captain America was a piece of hot garbage, to be sure. A tank with the height of a three-story building. Nazis running around in the 1940s with energy rifles. But America, who beat them 70 years ago, has been using weapons with bullets ever since. Fuck outta here.

Second and third movies were marginally better because they focused on character development and politics (ignoring the flying heli-carrrier battleships).
