Nah his original gimmick was just him being American and strong as fuck, then he went on as a Nation of Domination member. But vince kind of got sour on him cause he was super green and they gave him a massive guaranteed 10 year contract so they stuck him with the sexual chocolate gimmick in an attempt to get him to ask for a release cause of giving him shit material. But mark was smart enough to know he was making bank and stuck with it.

Yeah I was going to mention the Rampage rampage in my original post but when I looked it up to double check the 2 sources I checked both said nobody was hurt in the rampage, just several vehicles damaged but I could have sworn I remembered something about him causing a women to lose a baby.

Yep, pretty much. I imagine releasing him without him being in on it would mean they would have to pay out a certain amount of what was left on his contract which would have been sizable for the time, so they were trying to get him to request it. But he stuck to his guns, improved gradually with time and eventually ended up having a pretty strong run there for a bit at the end before getting a hall of fame spot.
