I think they got lucky so far and losing so badly to a Nate diaz who was on a yacht drinking shoots with 3 days of training beat arguably there bread winner and posterboy. should we start questions them because they relie to much on Conors power against significiant smaller opponents. Imagine Conor fighting at his natural weight Vs the Fergusons, AJs, Khabibs, etc etc of the worlds. Conor is to big for that weight imho

Ya well nothing exposed really. Conor has great boxing, decent BJJ, questionable cardio, etc. Europe has bad teams in general. They all specialize in striking, whereas in the US you have a lot more wrestlers, and in Brazil, BJJ. It's not really the camp's fault that they employ the only BJJ black belt in Ireland. It's as good as it can get. They don't have the best fighters in the world, but Conor and Gunnar are doing alright.

I really do not know enough about them to judge, however unlike most of Sherdog I do not believe that one loss should mean an automatic camp change.

Tremendous errors in gameplan and strategy imo.

Conor is naturally gifted and I'm willing to bet any halfway decent coach would have got him to the level he's at now. Gunnar gets by on his his pre-SBG grappling abilities; he'd also get as far as he has with any decent coach.

They could both do much better.

i really do not care.

also, makwan should get out of there.

Sbg has never been good....but conor will continue to win!

Ps. All the guys conor train with are not at the ufc level

I think they were exposed after everyone except Conor lost. They are definitely the best gym in Ireland but I don't think anyone really thought they were on Kings/Elevation/Jacksons/ATT level. I think Kavanagh is a great coach BJJ coach and cornerman, but Roddy just can't be mentioned in the same breath as Wink or Cordeiro.

SBG and Kav have had their UFC tenure's saved by matching their fighters up with bottom level competition.

Legit camps produce multiple decent fighters.

What he have here is the same scenario as Fedor with team Red Devil, or Sakuraba + Takada dojo. They were gyms that mostly produced mediocre/crap fighters who fluked upon one extremely talented guy.

Conor will be crossing the pond soon if he wants any legit shot at capturing gold at 155.

Conor and Gunnar deserve better. The rest deserve sbg level training.

Ireland has not got the coaching, exposed thats a bit harsh. MMA was unheard of in Ireland, only a few years ago. America and Brazil and other countries have better coaches to teach kids the art of fighting

I'm sure if Conor trained in America early on, he be better than he is now.

This.
Similar situation to Ronda.

Lol @ legit camp.

Its equivalent to glenndale.

Ronda has natural ability and raw skills, i dont think Edmond or anyone else in her camp offer her anything. Edmond is a so called boxing coach, but rondas boxing sucks.Same can be said of Connor. Dude has some natural skills, good solid striker, trains with a bjj coach but his ground game is amateur hour. Neither have good people to train with....both camps are equally shit.

They definitely skip leg day.

(Leg day being BJJ day).
