Dana said it wasn't Ngannou after he just defeated Cain but didn't say who it was that I know of.

Did we find out who DC's next HW opponent is since then? (Or at least a solid rumor)

Dana also said they were waiting on DC's injury before announcing anything so I doubt DC's back problem has sorted itself out in 2 days.

Since I don't think Brock comes back, and Jon has a fight scheduled.......it must be Stipe.

I felt like DC ducked the rematch and took the Lewis fight. Now I think he will scramble to do the rematch rather than face Ngannu.

I don't know, this whole Brock thing seems strange to me, its taking forever since the post fight incident when Cormier won the belt, and Brock just signed a new long term contract with WWE and now he is starting a new big feud with Seth Rollins, and they are gonna be main event and wrestling at many events coming up, Brock seems very important there now and ain't taking time off. His WWE schedule alone I don't believe he is fighting in UFC against anyone.

I actually asked Cole Konrad is Brock training on twitter, and he told me he knows nothing about it. Cole is one of Brocks best friends and trained with him for all his MMA fights.. and is an amazing wrestler and undefeated HW MMA himself. But no longer does MMA, but he would know if Brock was training as he was one of the guys helping him.

If its not Ngannou, then the only other thing I can think of is Jones at HW, after Jones smashes Smith

It sorted itself out pretty damn fast when the Lewis fight was offered.

I think it's Jones. Dana was quick to squash any talks of Ngannou vs. DC, and I don't see him giving Stipe a rematch. The Lesnar fight also doesn't look like it's materializing. They'll probably book DC vs. Jones 3, while Ngannou gets a Stipe rematch if Stipe is willing to do it.

Yeah I think you are probably right, I could see Jones coming out and announcing it after he trashes Smith. Cormier vs Jones 3 at HW would be much more interesting than at LHW. it gives it a fresh new look and something different, and Cormier is 15-0 at HW, and won't have to cut huge weight

@Joshuaace Dc could fight Jones, Stipe, Ngannou, Lesnar, and then you clowns would say "he's ducking Lewis! Why wont he give Lewis a rematch!"

I suppose if it's not Stipe or Ngannou fighting DC next Jones is about the only guy with a claim to a free title shot at HW being 2-0 over the Champ there. Stipe should really just get the rubber but seems destined to rematch Ngannou for contender status.

id rather it be ngannou or jds if he beats lewis, but that seems unlikely since jds and lewis dont fight for another few weeks. would have to be a quick turnaround for jds if he were to win. and anyways, i dont think dc would wanna fight jds anyways

I'm starting to think that Jones calling out DC after the Gus rematch, but only at LHW, was a ploy for more money. Jones has talked about going to HW but only for the right price. From the UFC's point of view, it's a waste to have Jones fight Smith and then someone like Corey Anderson. They'll probably make more money paying Jones a little extra to go to HW for a 3rd DC fight.

If this is all true, I actually see Jones allowing the UFC to strip him of the HW belt if he wins it. He seems like the type who'll avoid a super hard match up to keep his undefeated record (and there are definitely hard match ups for him at HW in my opinion). Someone like @FrankieNYC might have a more educated opinion on all this wheeling and dealing.

I could also be 100% wrong and look like a giant dumbess. Who knows :p

I have a feeling DC's back problem will conveniently sort itself out as soon as he gets a fight he wants. My guess is Lesnar or Jones.

Silliness. By his own words he was too injured to do a rematch with Stipe, then almost immediately accepted the Lewis fight. You interpret that how you want.
