Did tonight's beatdown show how weak wmma is?

Nunes has KO's and submission victories on her record. Black belt in BJJ and a brown belt in judo. How exactly is she one dimensional? Of course she was going to use her striking against Rousey. That's a smart gameplan, plain and simple. In no way does that make her one dimensional.

Surprisingly, it's just BW imo. They only have a handful of strikers, esp with Holms and Jermaine moving up. It's weird, it's the weight class that's brought in WMMA but it still seems to be in the stone ages compared to SW.

Oh boy, how can you not see it? There is no difference at all.

She fought the same way against Tate as she did against Ronda i.e one-two punches and no kicks at all. It worked but to me that's basic stuff that a top fighter should be able to defend easily.

LOL. So by that logic, no elite boxer should ever get hit by a 1-2 right? But they do all the time. You can't defend something by knowing how to defend it, you have to be on the same level.

There are far more diverse fighters and esp strikers in SW than BW. Waterson, Rose, Joanna, Calderwood, Grasso, Angela Hill (who mostly likely will come back to UFC), Karolina, Valerie...just to name a few off the top of my head. How many can you name in BW??? BW is filled with ground fighters with striking coming second...a far second for the most part. BW looks far much more primitive than Women's SW.

I'm likely just not a guy that singles out WMMA like you do. I have no problem watching Invicta.

Aldo got caught and put to sleep. Ronda fell into a fucking cargo net of punches, and was dragged out to sea and drowned.

Yes people can fall to the basics but when you're not even trying to slip, duck, block etc it just looks extra bad...look at Ronda tonight? Standing upright with her chin in the air and moving backwards in a straight line!!..this is what allows one-dimensional striking to look good.

Diverse fighters? Joanna, Calderwood and Hill (lol) are one dimensional strikers. Karolina is not a striker, her background is krav maga and fitness. She is just tough and scrappy, definitely not techincal.

Nunes, Holm, De Randemie, Eye..how are they any worse than the list you did? Also Ronda and McMann has olympic level grappling...find something like that in the 115 division.

Lol.

Lol! Jermaine and Holm aren't even BWs anymore, so that makes your list even more shallow. That division is filled with fighters that are below average strikers now more than ever. I'm saying BW is mostly ground fighters and stuck in the stone age with striking, the OVERALL diversity in that division is almost non-existant. They have about 3 strikers with actually stand-up and knockdown ability and the rest are ground specialist or just trying to survive lol. You can't try to deny that. All you can name is Eye and Nunes lol, the rest of the division is filled with either "strikers" on Bethe level and below or primarily ground fighters. W-BW is not diverse at all, esp at the top.

Jermaine and Holm are clearly part of the division, don't be ridiculous.
115 is not different in term of skills or diversity, if anything 135 is deeper in term of credentials (olympic medals and world champions).

It's improving now that the female version of Royce Gracie has been exposed. We're getting better fighters.

There are a lot more women naturally at SW than at BW. Men at LW/WW are also better than in the higher classes.

Did you realize something tonight? UFC says something "Ronda is greatest ever athlete of all time", Fuckboy Media asks the same stupid question 10000 times, the idiots that we live amongst only needed to hear it 4 times to be completely brainwashed.

No one who has a brain thought this fake ass bitch could hang.

Edmond spent the last half decade training a judoka to become a very shitty boxer.

Yeah WMMA is pretty weak...this match up wasn't a great showcase.

I mean...I knew before the fight that either Nunes would unload on Ronda and finish her really early or Ronda would take her down and submit her early. I was expecting this fight to finish inside of the first round. How many championship fights do you go into it, KNOWING it will be all of 1, 2 maybe 3 minutes long ?

Well, alot actually. Of course every fight is 50/50 in terms of what can happen at the base of it all. Nobody expected an Anderson Silva fight to last long. Or a chuck liddell fight. I mean, its easy to see which fights have that potential.

Did you name Eye? LOL. There are 3 good strikers in BW: Holm, Nunes, and De Randemie.

SW has Joanna, Calderwood, Andrede, Kish, Grasso, a bunch of girls that can actually throw punches and kicks.

As for olympic level grappling, you never heard of Tatiana Suarez?

There may be 25-35 good/worth a watch women fighters mixed among all the mma promotions currently.
The UFC has about 10-20, all the others are not very good. All of them. WMMA is the only and I mean only woman's sport I have / will ever sit and watch.

Schevchenko is a good striker, too.
