I can't say i'm impressed or disappointed with chael. I guess you can say i'm not surprised but definitely not disappointed.

Chael to me has never been a serious fighter, i've always pushed for him because he was entertaining as fuck not because I look up to him as a person/human being. Every fight he fought, he hyped it up to the best of his ability and in almost troll like fashion. It was almost like what would it be like if a WWE star never broke character and decided to go to the UFC. Everyone knew he was just playing a character up, I mean the guy literally started acting like that the minute he got a match against anderson silva and it was one of the greatest hype up fights EVER.

The dude is relentless and to me will always be a memorable part of UFC even if the UFC wants nothing to do with him and will most likely not induct him into the hall of fame.

Chael is literally the best trash talkers in MMA history, I don't think there is even a close second.

With that being said, I'm going to miss the fuck out of him.

he will always be the best smack talker

I was always going to remember him primarily as an always-game opponent that would fight anyone anytime.

That's still true, but he's now the Ben Johnson of MMA and it's pretty hard to think of anything else first.

Very disappointed him in. The only thing he has going for him is his only real failed drug test came after he retired (results wise). He has some mitigating circumstances, but it's a big black stain.

Definitely lost respect for him.

I cheered for him against Anderson both times and was hoping he would beat Jones. I enjoyed him on TV and thought he was one of the best coaches on TUF.

Now..........i think he is a cool guy who had the world by the balls and blew it. I wish him success in the future and i hope he can achieve it without the lies and lack of integrity.

a poster above me referred to him as the Ben Johnson of our sport. Others refer to him as the lance armstrong or barry bonds. I agree with that in most respects. The one area where we as MMA fans are lucky is that he never held a title. So Thank you Jones and Spider for that. Chael was a good fighter that will never know if he could have been as good as he was without cheating. Ironically it wasn't even the cheating that got him fired, it was his cover up/lies.

The whole thing is disappointing. There will always be cheaters and liars in sports but it doesn't excuse either. I like Chael and i am glad he got caught. I wish him the best in the future.

I think none of this is really surprising in the end.

Good thing (or really well calculated) that he chose to retire just before these additional tests have come out.

Just will be interesting to see how the UFC approach this in the end, if they choose to keep him around on their broadcast team with FOX (unless that is FOX employing them? Can someone clear that up for me?) because this is always going to hang over his head, and probably not in a good way.

hes never been much of a fighter and we all knew he was a cheat

No. I always knew he was a cheat. His victim card didn't work on me at all. Good to see some karma for all the things he said and his fans ate up.

Still a hell of an entertaining guy though.

Nope always thought he was a meh fighter with little drive and that just shows in the fact he doesn't think he can win without dem roids

Not at all. I always assumed he was juicing his ass off on TRT and that his TUE in America was just as Shady as Vitor's in Brazil. For some strange reason people only talked about Vitor fighting in Brazil and never being randomly tested, but forgot to mention that Sonnen wasn't being randomly tested while on TRT in America.

I always knew he was a liar, cheater, and a boring fighter that relied on trash talking to hype himself up since idiots buy into that and get captivated by it. Only time I've ever had interest in him is when he's failed a drug test and has to explain away his actions.

My thoughts exactly. Screw Sonnen, he blew it and dragged the sport down while he was here.

everything he is being proved of doing now he has been proved of doing before, and he still had his fan base. i guess they won't be dissuaded now either.
only question is whether the UFC takes their usual stance of burying their head in the sand when it benefits them, or will they take a stand and dump him.

Oh you bastard... I know you posted that just to see me cry.
I'm not ashamed though.
And to the TS... they may have tarnished his image... but I'll always remember the charming guy who was submitted four times by Jeremy Horn *sniffle*
If only I could go back.

Basically, he's fired from FOX, too. In my opinion if he needs money and still wants to do something related to physical activities it would be WWE for him.
