I have noticed that prior to the nate loss he was oozing with confidence and he was talking about being a white belt in movement training while others have yet to take their first class.

He would talk so passionately about this training and that it was going to redefine fight training and fitness culture forever. Ido portal was saying that people thar train movement can perform any and every type of kick with out drilling it for years because the body can simply move everyway.

After the nate loss he did the rematch and won a decision. But then he never talked about movement ever again. He trash talked Eddie, Floyd and khabib but no more movement talk. In the Rogan podcast his coach said that ido comes at the end just to make training fun once hard sparring is done.

I am curious to know if the false claims of movement diminished his confidence?

No no no.

Money ruined his passion. Not movement. Smdh

i think the floyd and nate looses have made him an over thinker in some situations. he had a clear game plan vs kabib and idk if it was the best plan. He got beat by a common strategy by floyd and somehow didn't expect that . I think he was away from mma to long, is aging , partying is going to catch up with him, and needs to get back to his old way of approaching these fights.

the movement did help him. there is legitimacy to it. its not going to help a poor fighter be great. but it will help with mobility body control and awareness, balance and flexibility. similar to other styles of training many mma and bjj athletes use. I just think he quit talking about it because the public basically kept attacking ido's personally and his career. he also didn't need to promote ido anymore because he had basically got what he needed out of him and ido moved on to train others and expand his business. he still works with him sometimes.

his confidence definitely isn't broken but i think he got trapped in his head a bit over a few of those loses. hes very obsessive and does not like to lose

Should of been training wrestling instead of that snake oil called movement training. Martial arts has a long history of con men, Ido's bullsh!t training is just one example..

Ido is probably too expensive to keep around... It's hilarious for Irish Edmund to trash him in interviews.
I really don't mind if people get into some sort of movement/yoga training as a supplement but the trainer should never be front and center. Ido portal holding noodle pads and throwing jabs is not right. To be fair, I had the same criticisms of Naudi Aguilar who was doing the S&C for Jeremy Stephens.

Probably realized he got scammed after Nate choked him out

His 'movement training' likely landed him a fabulous case of AIDS

They introduced a movement class at my gym during that period, with some kinetics PhD guy.

They don't do it anymore.

It was pointless.

Conor needs 1-2 years of Take down defense and one year of learning to get up.

Who cares about his passion...

The dude is a one dimensional power puncher whose power only works when he has a reach advantage.

And he can’t wrestle.

Mayweather, Pacquiao, GGG and many great boxers still train hard even they are rich. I think the problem of McGregor is that he is not a top fight, the more he fights the more his popularity fades. If he can pull a string of wins, that's another story

Ido Portal never ever tried to enter the mma scene.

I am curious to know if all your salt diminishes your confidence?
