I'm relatively new to MMA compared to most here. So when I began following MMA hardcore PRIDE had already come and gone.

I've noticed there seems to be a lot of controversial decisions in the UFC and many people complain a lot about it. Of course, there were probably controversial decisions but I'm wondering if they had as many as the UFC has been having recently. My question is was judging as much of an issue in PRIDE as it has been in the UFC?

If so why do you think that it is?

Hendo in pride was Garcia of wec/UFC

Wand vs Hunt was bullshit
Ninja vs rampage

Regardless of what anyone on here tells you, the way PRIDE scored fights makes todays UFC look like a joke. Yes there were some BS calls and SOME questionable BS, but looking back, it pales in comparison to the way athletic commissions in NA work.

Yes.

For a while hendo's nickname was Decision Dan here because he got some roberries

There were several ones that I remember that were controversial such as Hendo vs Bustamante, Ninja vs Rampage, and jeez, I can't remember anymore right now... I'm too tired

Yes.
And fixed fights.
And fights where they have challengers with nearly no notice.
And fights where they have four top contenders grind against each other for a title shot while the champion fights some guy with a meh record.
And look how they bracketed tournaments.

Decks were royally stacked.

Wait... you contradicted yourself... Did you mean that the Athletic commissions here are pale in comparison or am I just going cuckoo?

This guy would have had NO chance of beating Dan Henderson. Even if he submitted Dan, he still would have lost.

Probably occurred at the same rate but it felt like Pride had more at the time due to their scoring system and emphasis on the third round. Someone could get owned for 15 minutes, win the last 5 and Win the fight if he was a big draw or Japanese.

No and you never heard anything bad about the refs either because they were always willing to bend their knees and check up on fighters unlike the refs that stand erect(straight up) even when both combatants are flat on the floor!

Can't tell if this is a joke
