I think so. Every1 giving praise for Nate, but IMO he was extremely dissapointing in that fight. His boxing was horrible and he got outboxed and outclinched by Conor. He even panick wrestled for takedowns. Thoughts?

well considering he won i would say he performed better in the first lol

Yeah.

I also think Rockhold performed better in the first Bisping fight.

Yup only won first fight cuz conor was in worst shape of his life and wrestled cuz he underestimanted nates ground game his only skill. Second fight total dominateiion from start to end.

In the first fight he threw actual punches instead of exclusively trying to slap Colin's head off.

Nope, Conor just performed much worse. Nate didn't do much of anything in either fight, it's just that in the first one Conor had serious trouble finding his range because he usually doesn't spar 6'1 guys.

Imo Conor just fought better in the rematch.

And yes, the second fight was not very good. Disappointed in both fighters.

lol how delusional do you have to be to come up with this shit?

That's exactly it. Conor lost the first fight because he was trying to wing power shots and blast Diaz in the first round. He didn't commit to attacking the legs at all. In the second fight, he immediately came out and started throwing more thai style shin kicks to the thigh, which made a big difference as it gave Diaz more than one thing to worry about. Sadly though Conor seemed to get pretty conservative as I remember him dwindling down to more or less single shots, and not really using his kicks to set up his punches, which is probably why it was such a prolonged, grinding fight.

The biggest difference between the first and second fight is that Conor's fight IQ was really poor in the first fight. Laughably overconfident he could KO a Diaz coming off his Aldo victory and gassed in under 2 rounds. In the second fight he had a much better game plan. Credit to Nate for weathering the storm better in the first fight and landing that big one two in the second round.

In the first fight conor believed he could ko him and whiffed on an awful lot of his shots.Second fight he took a more measured approach and picked his shots and rounds to win the fight.

This -- plus, Nate fought smarter in the first fight. He stood in front of Conor more in the rematch, where in the first fight, he maintained his range by circling away and using side and push kicks. I'm not sure if the leg kicks froze Nate, if he came in injured, or if he was just overconfident.

Also, Conor varied his strikes better in the rematch. Nate nailed him with the 1-2 in the first fight because Nate knew he was spamming the left uppercut.

I think that Nate was the same in both fights.

Conor adapted (ran away...okay that and leg kicks, have to give him that :) ) and that won him the fight. Nate did everything the same.

He was much better the first fight, he never found his range in the second fight and was only getting success in the clinch he didn't really hit conor with anything on the outside

He wasn't great in either fight.

Conor completely gassed in the first fight and then Nate started to shine. Nate by no means was destroyed in the first round of the first bout like many claim he was, he just cuts very easily.

The second fight he was caught by shots he normally doesn't get caught with, he was a very slow starter and then gassed himself, which was the most disappointing thing about that fight. If Nate had been able to keep the pace in the 4th round he would have finished him again, I've very confident of that - he let Conor off the hook. I personally still scored it for Nate, by a smidgen, but I understand the idea that he lost, and I can accept that.

Nate will be back though, he's a fucking warrior with an underrated career.
